Though, Vampire the Requiem is one of our source materials for spawning ideas. I will say one thing though: The gnomes are the evil race. Picture gnomes as just a mutated human race (done through their experimentation with magic). They learned the arcane ways well beyond anyone else and now tries to use it to great the "perfect race" for a "perfect world." Very much like Dr. Josef Mengele. They live underground and kidnap other races for their experiments. There's also only 1 true city left in the whole playing world. Stand Your Convictions and You Will Walk Alone.
