Plano Skywalker Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 they always had job listings <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure but that just seems like a lot in the way of game art, development and design for a company that hasn't done a lot in-house of late.
Darth_Zonos Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 maybe they don't have alotta in house because there staff is like 4 monkeys on typwriters, a fat guy with a bald spot, and a wierd guy who cuts himself. hehehehe j/k
Blank Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 LA needs to hire someone to make K3, preferrably Obsidian, since i like Obsidian. i think that's all i have to say.
Darth_Zonos Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 obsidian would be a great choice because they seem to know they are doing
Gabrielle Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 LA needs to hire someone to make K3, preferrably Obsidian, since i like Obsidian. i think that's all i have to say. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only Obsidian or Bioware.
alanschu Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I'm game for Bethesda. Muahahaha....let the fun begin!
Gabrielle Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I'm game for Bethesda. Muahahaha....let the fun begin! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <_<
Darth_Zonos Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 maybe lucasarts sould make there own game
Gabrielle Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 That's comedy. I wouldn't trust LA to do that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Truely. They would rush themselves to release a half made game.
Darque Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 And then cancel it half way in like they did with K3.
Plano Skywalker Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 thing is, it is one thing to have an outsider make Republic Commando and such titles. KOTOR is different. It is, essentially, the crown jewel of SW games. It is where official SW continuity lives on. so, I am sure that many of the LA rank and file REALLY want KOTOR to be done in-house regardless of whether it makes economic sense to do so. however, I'm not sure they can handle the creative aspect of a true RPG, at least at this time. best bet would be to either contract out KOTOR-type games (how's that for being troll proof?) or to have it done in-house with paid consultants from BioWare or Obsidian. they would also probably want to license an engine that is geared toward making true RPGs, such as the NWN2 engine. my point is that I can see a scenario in which they do it in house but they would still need to bring in some old guns from a company like Obsidian.

I believe they have the talent but they are just lazy and rich. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
alanschu Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 so, I am sure that many of the LA rank and file REALLY want KOTOR to be done in-house regardless of whether it makes economic sense to do so. That would make sense, given that the first two KOTOR games were made in house. ....

Blank Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Makes the fans ANGRY! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> angry like this: ... but maybe more like this:
Plano Skywalker Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 That would make sense, given that the first two KOTOR games were made in house. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, they were PRODUCED in-house. I'm talking about DEVELOPED and produced and with an LA employee writing the storyline. I'm not saying it should happen. I'm just saying that I believe a number of LA employees are pushing for that and that is one reason we haven't heard anything.
