ramza
Hello everyone, I was taking a look at amazon.com and I found this: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000...9563949-4230601 This is a real bargain. I have been thinking of buying a gamecube someday but I wanted to wait till the prices dropped. Do you think that I should buy that pack? Or should I wait till the next generation consoles appear on the market? "Ooo, squirrels, Boo! I know I saw them! Quick, throw nuts!" -Minsc "I am a well-known racist in the Realms! Elves? Dwarves? Diogo Ribeiro
I'd wait for the Revolution to come. Nintendo's next gen console will allow you to play all the Gamecube titles, and last I heard it might allow you to download old Nintendo games. Even if it doesn't, all the Gamecube software library will still be compatible. Regardless, the Gamecube is dirt cheap right now, and there's quite a number of good games, as well as Nintendo exclusives. I picked one up recently and don't regret it. I could have waited for the Revolution, but the main reason I didn't was because I also bought a Gameboy Player Pak to play Gameboy Advance games directly on the 'Cube, which I don't know will be possible to do on the Revolution (and if it becomes possible, I could very well sell the 'Cube and stick with the software). Though personally I'd try to buy a different pack. Not sure if there are others available now, but I'd go with a 'Cube + Metroid Prime or 'Cube + Resident Evil 4 paks. ramza
Well, I really love Mario Kart. Even if I waited for the Revolution to come, I bet that the new consoles will be quite expensive. I 'd probably have to wait for another 2 or 3 years till I buy them. The question is : do I buy a GC now or do I wait for a few months? The resident evil 4 pack is also interesting though... Diogo Ribeiro
If you feel the Revolution might be too expensive then I think it's best you buy the Gamecube now. That way you'll have some nice titles to play and it will likely last you some time before you can get the Revolution (if you plan on getting it). Even if you don't, the 'Cube is at a very affordable price, and many of its best titles are getting cheaper. Gotta catch'em all! Arkan
Get the Gamecube. Get Killer7 "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta

karka
Probably, Revo won't be that expensive. It will be the most affordable next-gen console. I am calling it poor man's next-gen. Personally, i am waiting for Revo. You can play Gamecube titles on Revo seamlessly by buying Gamecube style controllers for the Revo. I suggest you to save your money for Revo. And if you want to play some GC titles, just buy those games now.

I guess they will still be available (in stores or on the web) when the Revo will come around. When is the Revo supposed to be released? Does anyone have a clue about its approximate price? EDIT: I just made a quick search and noticed that the new X-box 360 is sold at 300 euros. I won't even dare imagine how much the other consoles will cost. Of course, with all the competition, prices might drop quickly enough, but I wouldn't count on that. The only moment a console's price decrease is when its time is over and next-gen consoles appear... Edited January 30, 2006 by ramza "Ooo, squirrels, Boo! I know I saw them! Moose
Get a Gamecube. Personally I wouldn't bother with Mario Kart cos compared to the SNES and N64 versions the Gamecube version has really poor tracks. What you really want to get is Resident Evil 1. It's one of the best games out there. Resident Evil 4 is also worth a play (and you don't even have to know the story of the previous series). There are none that are right, only strong of opinion.
