Bloody hell, he was worse than Ian (ok, maybe not ) when it came to bursting!

I made that mistake once and that was it. After that he got the turbo plasma rifle.

Precisely. After having Marcus repaint the walls of several bases with the brain matter of several companions, I took all burst weapons away from the NPCs and instead let Marcus build energy weapons. The only character I would allow to have a burst weapon was the Chosen One, since I had some control over it at least...

I just got done going crazy in NCR. I was doing pretty good until one of those stupid cops scored a critical I guess. My HP went down to -52.

Well, think of Skynet as the Fallout equivalent of HK-47

 

Anybody tried the "Kennel" way ?

 

That is, having dogmeat, robodog and K-9 as your party ?

Melee is alright. I had a good time playing through the game with three dogs. They'd run up to the enemies and I'd hang back with a scoped rifle. I don't think any of them survived the game however.

Yup, there is an advancement to them what other NPC-s don't have:

They don't shot you in pieces with a minigun :D

I rarely use melee in Fallout. It's all about big guns that do mega damage.

I like to kick the eye out, or if too large distance then i take my Advanced Plasma Gun, and snipe it out

(my 3 perks are always Smoothtalk, plasma weapons, and usually unarmed)

Me and my buddys are working on it since 2 years. We used a dice modification of the original system of Fallout, but it was too hard, so we now use a simplified d20 system for it
