I'm gonna slingshot this topic in another direction, since I just got reminded of a funny story. Me and my former band were in a studio to record a few songs a couple of years ago, and as we were discussing hand claps and how to make them sound good, the studio guy came up with a funny anecdote. He'd had a hard-rock band there a few weeks earlier who were recording a song with hand claps, but it just didn't sound any good. Then they somehow found out that the best noise came from smacking one's buttocks, so they eventually wound up standing in a circle with their pants half-way down to their knees spanking each other with a microphone hanging down the middle.
