Hurlshort Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Anyone pick up the game "GUN" yet? It looks like it's got a decent story, good voice talent, and a western style. I'm just worried that it's way too much run and gun stuff and not enough decisions and plot development. It's developed by Neversoft, which did the Tony Hawk series. That might not be everyones cup o' tea, but it's a solid series with a lot of gameplay freedom. It's getting solid reviews, but I'd like to hear opinions if anyone got it. It's on all platforms and the PC.
Spider Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Yeah, I heard that as well. Main story ends in about 6 hours according to Gamespot.

Musopticon? Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I heard it's short but there's lots of free roaming. I might get it. If it hits the PC, that is. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds

Kaftan Barlast Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 $60(the price of the 36o version) for a 6 hour game? Unless it has an advancd mutiplayer or extreme replayability, that is a complete ripoff. Spider Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 It's already out on the PC. As for replayability and such, according to the Gamespot review, I doubt there's much. It's kinda open, but the reviewer felt that the non-story mission quickly became repetetive and nothing that kept you playing after you finished the campaign. It got a score of 7.4 if anyone cares. Don't know if there's any multiplayer.
Hurlshort Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 But is the story good? I could care less about length if the game is a great story. People said the same thing about Fable, and I never regretted purchasing that game.
Child of Flame Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Everything I've heard says the story is pretty awesome.
Darque Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 The story may be awesome... but I need more than a 6 hour story Guess I'll have to wait for the price to drop...

Gabrielle Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 It's too exspensive for something that is far too short. Wait for the prices to drop.

Wait for the prices to drop. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DO you have a larger (ie: wallpaper) version of the pic in yoru sig? " "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
Krookie Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 GameSpot gave GUN a 7.4. I'm kinda upset, I thought we had a good game on our hands...Mabye the 360 version will be a bit better.

I'm kinda upset, I thought we had a good game on our hands...Mabye the 360 version will be a bit better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The mian reason for the grade was the lack of content in the game. Somehow I doubt that'll be fixed for the 360.
CoM_Solaufein Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 So far this doesn't look like a game that will be on my purchase list. Judge Hades Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 If a console gae doesn't have at least 30 hours of game time then its not worth getting at full price. I might get this game when it hits the bargin bin at $10 to $15. That is what a 6 hour game is worth.
Petay Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I definatly agree with Hades right here, maybe once it does hit the bargain bin it will be worth buying, playing, and then selling again once i have completed it, but i definatly wont buy it at full price if it only has gameplay of about 6 hours. The whole idea of a western shooter does sound very enticing though .

If you're a completionist I guess it'll be more, but it looks like a rental to me.
Petay Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I read the back of the strategy guide earlier, there was something about "Find all the coal mines" or something like that! Yay!
Judge Hades Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 You know, killing miners is frowned upon.
