Well our Finnish brothers have been suspiciously silent in this flame fest, but I'll see if I can be bothered with it later. However the CIA World Factbook got all the details and stats, if that's what you're looking for. :thumbsup:

Scandinavia consists of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Faroe Islands. A much broader term, Norden, sometimes includes the Baltic countries and us Finns.

Although modern Swedes may be only emasculated shadows of their brutish, cunning, genius ancestors, they still hold a place in my heart as my grandparents came to America (Minnesota) from Sweden in the last century, and we still have ties to the homeland (..my great grandfather's first cousin in Sweden was Selma Lagerlof

I would say that Finland is generally considered part of Scandinavia. Sure, Finnish is a language alien to the other Scandinavian languages, but they have a Scandinavian cross flag and they have a very long association with Sweden. In Sweden we have the saying "Finlands sak

Well, off-worlders do consider Finns as scandis, but officially we're not part of the great nothern commune. Thanks though :D
