Meshugger Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I got this from a post on another board: Cindy Sheehan "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Lucius Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 On a related note, I really hate that Hannity dude, and I'm not even American. DENMARK! It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.
kumquatq3 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 The Wolf Blitzer parts don't really make a whole lot of sense in the context of the joke. He is a CNN anchor.
Cantousent Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Not only is Wolf a CNN anchor, CNN is pilloried by the conservatives in the same way FOX is attacked by the liberals. I hate watching all of the prime time lineup. I like Neil Cavuto, although that's almost like a variety show sometimes, and I like Brit Hume. I think Cindy Sheehan is creating a media circus, with great help from the media. I also think her son paid for the privilege with his life. If you don't like what she has to say, don't listen, but she has every right to say it. I wouldn't have it any other way. taks Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 nice to be able to invent quotes for people out of context just to further your own cause. also nice that only liberals care about civil rights. btw, i bet you o'reilly does more for blacks and/or underpriveleged than you do. taks comrade taks... just because.

To be fair, this was supposed to be about the civil rights movement. Conservatives wern't exactly champions of the cause back then. 2. I bet O'reilly does more to hurt blacks and/or underpriveleged too. 3. That was a repost of someone elses comments, MeShrugger didn't "invent quotes" It is clearly a one sided, minus wolf blitzer, peice tho
Lucius Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 That you would be an O'reilly fan doesn't surprise me in the slighest taks. DENMARK! It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.
taks Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 ah, yes, being a "right wing ****" and all that... you're a good laugh, for sure. btw, for the record, "right wing" implies, among other things fascism and christianity. i'm a capitalist atheist so really the term "right wing" does not apply even remotely. either that or you don't understand the definitions of different political ideologies. tell me, do you base every comment you make on ad hominems? taks comrade taks... just because.
Darth Rabbit Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 nice to be able to invent quotes for people out of context just to further your own cause. also nice that only liberals care about civil rights. btw, i bet you o'reilly does more for blacks and/or underpriveleged than you do. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dude, it's a satire.
Lucius Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I don't know, but I do know that every single comment you make seems to reek of Fox News propaganda... Also known as "right wing". Additionally, you're completely humorless. DENMARK! It appears that I have not yet found a sig to replace the one about me not being banned... interesting.
Calax Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I hate watching Fox News, they are absolutly full of them selves, like Atris. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
kirottu Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 But Atris was good looking. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
kumquatq3 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 But Atris was good looking. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But when Fox News did that flashy 3D eagle that swooped down and fired missles, I **** you not, that was pretty cool!
Judge Hades Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I just wish we had a news station not mired in its own agenda.
kumquatq3 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I just wish we had a news station not mired in its own agenda. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 300 YEARS IN THE FUTURE Professor Zork: "....and legend says that with this line, "Hades the Fair" started to build the largest news corporation the world had ever known" Student# A482H358: "Wowwwwwwww! How did he do it?" Professor Zork: "Well, he built a robot army in Iowa. Since it was Iowa, it was months before anyone noticed. By then, the military was all over seas and no one could stop him from spreading his own balanced brand of back to basics news reporting. Here is one of the first issues of his paper even written" ::Hands to student:: Student# A482H359: "Professor, why did he decided to call it the Van Buren Weekly?" Professor Zork: "The world may never know....."

Cantousent Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 True comedy. ROFLMAO. Hades is also a fellow Zork fan, so it's all fitting. Dark Moth Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think a lot of the so-called "right-wing propaganda" people claim Fox News spouts is propaganda itself. Truth is, I've looked at how both liberal and conservative media report things, and I've found both sides to be guilty of spinning, the liberals even more so. Why? They control much of the media. Don't believe me? List all the major news channels and papers, and you'll find most of them are liberal. And for those of you who cite conservative radio as an example to counter my statement, you can't count the radio as actual "news". Most of those programs are talk shows, not a good or reliable place to get your information. And I don't think we'll ever see an unbiased media, because everyone has an agenda, and everyone is biased.
Judge Hades Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think we should form our own news service here on the Internet. Maybe we can set up a interwoven blog set up and report events without the hyperbole of conservatism or liberalism. I think we should call it Van Buren Weekly.

But, Foxnews is prolly THE media juggernaut night now. In my expirence, they tend to be farther from the middle than CNN. I think MSNBC and CNN are equals on the right and left respectively.

Actually, the places where I see the worst examples of bias are in the newspapers. My hometown newspaper, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the New York Times are great examples.

People like to call MSNBC liberal, but I really don't see it. Not when you've got guys like Joe "News Your Family Needs To Know" Scarborough and Tucker Carlson hanging around. I don't watch domestic CNN enough to know whether it's liberal or not, so I might have to try tuning in now and again to check it out.
