Personally, I really liked Halo, I thought it was a far superior game to Half Life.

Halo 2, man! BEST FIRST PERSON SHOOTER EVER!

The combine tank was teh r0xx0r, and Swords and Shotguns totally r0xx0rz my b0xx0rz.

I'm starting this thread so we can all discuss our love for the Master Chief, and discuss strategies for Halo 1 and 2.

Very subtle, man. Very subtle.

I loaded the demo, played half of it, then uninstalled it. I hastened to uninstall it faster when that annoying Master Wanker started nagging me to buy the game.

It was repetitive and about as interesting as eating the cardboard packaging at a Christmas Banquet.

Master Chief was an annoying parody of the Sergeant from Full Metal Jacket.

Incidentally, did you know that the guy who did the VO of the Training Sergeant in Half-Life: Counter Strike was the same guy who did Duke Nukem?

Kewl!

I wanna play Darque's copy where you get to play as a master chef.

"Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque

"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)

Is it me or is the troll-moon out in full ... let's TRY to post constructively, or perhaps its timeout time in the Sandbox?

I've never really gotten into Halo.

The same thing goes for singleplayer Half-Life.

sure I played the damn games but hey.

On the other hand I really liked the Multiplayer for HL.

Hmm,a pathetic contribution to a spamfilled thread.Groovy.

Halo is like Deus Ex in at least one very important way: stories. The sequels had worse stories than the originals.

Can't argue with that. Halo 2's story was pretty dern bad. I can't comment on Deus Ex since I've never played any of the games. *ducks for cover*

Why not? Do you enjoy depriving yourself of pleasure? Is it some sort of masochistic kick, or something?

Because I haven't come across it yet. After some nagging GoA has already convinced me to buy it should I ever find it.

A Halo thread that talks about Halo? How weird!

I warned you all! (laughs at SOE)

Anyway, what I want to know is what that gravemind was supposed to be. Perhaps he was some kind of collective conscience for the Flood, sort of like the Overmind in Starcraft.

About weapons, in Halo 1 the pistol was super powerful, now it's totally weak. The only real reason to use it now is if you have no other weapons available (which is almost never). I thought the Battle Rifle was sweet, though.

Just a comment, I've never played Half-Life 1 or 2, unfortunately. I should really buy it sometime.

Poor RevanRefined. Shouldn't have left the K2-fora.
