LadyCrimson Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 This wasn't 'late 80's' but it was early 80's...just wondering if anyone else remembers this short-lived show..."The Phoenix" I had this stupid crush on Judson Scott (I was, like, 12) which might explain why I like Disciple. Harhar. Years later, it was weird to see him in Wrath of Khan and then on ST:TNG in a few episodes here and there. “Things are as they are. Darth Flatus Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 If i remember correctly, the son defected to the alien side no? If so then that would be in keeping with Katt's roles ^_^

Archmonarch Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I was, and am, a great fan of The Outer Limits. Basically a series of what-if? scifi propositions. Just yesterday, I was watching one titled 'The Music of the Spheres' on the SCIFI channel in which Kirsten Dunst and that Pacey guy from Dawson's Creek starred. Synopsis (partially from TV.com): Devon Taylor (Pacey), a 20 year-old physics TA, has heard a lot of strange sounds coming from space as part of his job assisting Dr. Evan Swift in investigation of the recent growth of solar flare activity -but something tells him this signal, coming from the direction of Certus, is special. Devon's suspicions are confirmed when he takes a tape of the signal home and his 17 year-old sister, Joyce (Kirsten Dunst), and her boyfriend Vic react as if they have heard the most beautiful music in the world. But the sound, which seems comprehensible only to teenagers, has a disturbing side-effect; Joyce and Vic's skin begins physically changing, as does the skin of all the other teenagers they expose to the sound. Worse, when Devon's father, Dr. Emory Taylor, orders the "music" taken away, the teenagers appear to go through a painful and possibly deadly withdrawal. Faced with the spread of this potentially deadly audio virus, the government imposes martial law as Devon and his father try to figure out why the sound has the effect it does. To make a long story short, they eventually realize the sun is shifting into a blue dwarf, and that the music was sent to allow humanity to survive the increase in ultraviolet radiation. Basically, their skin turns an iridescent gold formed of heavy metals to block the UV rays. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
metadigital Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Wow. Yeah, I really liked Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. The newer series weren't always as good as the Rod Serling originals, though. Grizz Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Didn't read the thread, here's a quick run down of my favorite 80s/late 90s tv shows. Please note that most of them are kids shows as I was a ... you know... kid at the time. David the Gnome Lost Cities of Gold TMNT X-Men (I think it was the one on Fox Kids) Captain Caveman Heathcliff and there was some show called the littlest koala or something like that... all the characters were marsupials and I just remember liking it because the platypus had the coolest house-submarine. You probably couldn't pay me enough to sit down and watch these today but thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
