it can also be:

 

(6*2)-8+9/1=13

That's the one I always used. I wonder what the average time it takes a person to figure out that sequence on their own is. I figured that out in about 3 minutes I think. Not real fast, and here I thought I was smart.

I think the problem everybody has is that the blasted thing can be solved several ways and everybody doesn't want to waste the time to figure them all out just to give it a random try

I think you have to use all the mathmatical symbols once only so the (6*2)-8+9/1=13 is the correct answer.
