  1. i think the article is great. it explains many things asked about in this forum. the whole article should be locked on top on the technical forum. people should know about obsidians intentions and mistakes. nevertheless, lucasarts still is in big need of asskicking. or asslicking. if that's what turns them on.
  2. i came to think about an idea of a game feature in a possible kotor3 when i played kotor2 "backwards". the incidents and situations on the planets, should be aligned with time. so depending on when you arrive at a planet, you'd be able to help/interact in slightly different ways. i think it's a great idea. another comment: i'm tired of people hacking on obsidian for their mistakes caused by a limited time frame. you should blame lucasarts. or supporting team-gizka for their work. or mailing both obsidian and lucasarts for releasing the final patch. EDIT: read this: http://gamedeveloper.texterity.com/gamedeveloper/sample/
  3. you mean there are other games than kotor1&2.. . .. ?? ??? i'll probably get a job when i get my driver's license. then i will buy a new computer. (or console. or both.)
  4. and i could think kotor 3 as kotor 0: the fall of exar khun. it could be interesting... i mean, we've heard so much about the mandalorian wars and exar khun and all those sith lords. don't you almost want to be there...?
  5. So true. Pay heed to this man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i tried omegadrivers, and didn't notice any improvements with my fx5600 and 1.6 mhz processor. for me, my best performance is with 71.84 nvidia drivers.
  6. somehow the issue with scavanger-chief-woman-thingy disappeared after disabeling a mod that modified the textures of robes. and yes, i'm really thinking of getting a console (xbox).
  7. it's beginning to get quite irritating now. i have to restart kotor 2 once an hour in general. sometimes more often. sometimes i get lucky playing 3 hours without a restart. the game crashes most of the times when loading a new area or interacting with npc's. not the ones in the party, i mean people you meet. that's the main problem. another related issue is this: in my ongoing game, i can't talk to that old woman at the scavanger camp on dantooine. it's my first planet after telos, and everytime i try to approach her, i can hear her first lines while the picture freezes and i get a windows error message. and the game crashes. i tried to talk to the same npc with two other of my saved games. one of them could talk to her, while the other save produced the same incident. help, please?
  8. as i recall, mira is talking (telepathy) with the exile.
  9. as maybe have been noted before, the problems with newer nvidia drivers, occurs when using older cards. like the 5xxx series.
  10. if you don't hang around at pcgamemods.com, you could have missed there's a fix for the workbench, correcting the bug where the chosen character's repair skill now is used... http://www.pcgamemods.com/14490/ thank you maraxus!
  11. i just have to say i'm really REALLY looking forward for the restoration project! you guys should send a bill to lucas arts when you're done...
  12. the ebon hawk. i think about it at least once every two weeks... it could be a home. a kind of house-wagon. that flies. in space. with hyperdrive. and i could take my friends with me.
  13. maybe it's a bug. have you been friendly with the ithorians with the droid-plot? i've always suceeded with persuation around 12. don't see the problem.
  14. i have a fx5600 and putted in "disable vertex buffer objects=1" under graphic options in the swkotor.ini-file. from 0.25 fps on dantooine i got at least 15-20 fps.
  15. i found an answer on lucasart's forum. BUG 3 - DXUN SITH HUNT: When the Sith attack the Mandalorian camp on Dxun, make sure you kill ALL of them before you leave the area. Otherwise, when you are called back later in the game, the people who are supposed to talk to you (Kaylorn, I believe) will stop talking to you in order to finish off the Sith. When the Sith are all dead, the game will refuse to advance normally. NOTE: You *might* be pulled off to Onderon my Mandalore before all the Sith are killed. When you return to Dxun, just make sure you killed all of them, and all will be well. But if not, when you return to Dxun later to finish Onderon, the bug will be triggered. A LATER POST WROTE: I've noticed something else that goes on here. Before you go to Onderon, the Sith attack the camp. After killing a few of them, Mandalore steps in and takes you to Onderon. When you return, however, there are still some Sith in the camp, most notably by the area with the Lab Station where you first spoke with Mandalore. These are the ones you MUST kill before leaving Dxun or your game will get badly screwed up when it's time to return and head to the Sith Temple/Iziz Palace. Hope that makes it a little more clear.
  16. i've saved just before the fight with the sith assasins which appear just before you go to iziz from mandalore camp on dxun. and everytime after i've finished off the first area in front of the hangar, i get the scene where mandalore says we're going to onderon and the next thing i have to choose my party and then the bink-movie of us taking the shuttle. urgh.
  17. FORCE DOMINATE MIND on lucasarts to release the final patch for kotor2.
  18. i wondered if people have discovered hidden keys, or keys that does things which aren't told about in the manual. for example, i have noticed you can browse through the action-menues by holding shift+the number for the shortcut-key. edit: i didn't know which forum this post would be best in. took a chance for spoilers. but it isn't really spoilers. anyway.
  19. maybe it depends on your skills and attributes. i think it does.
  20. when female exile asks mira if she understands men...
  21. i've had that thought about there's too many characters in your party. maybe there should be a core of 3-5 people and 5 more or less temporary. i also like the parts where you can't switch characters in your party (like the refugee-quarter on nar-shadaa), and the mini-quests like mira's and t3's.it's during those small quests you get to know your other characters better. or being forced to, maybe. kotor1 also had more time to develop it's characters. and there are, i think, more places where the characters react on things that happen. they often start speaking to you without being adressed to. there are markers at some places which triggers them. like when you run around on taris with bastila and mission (or tatooine) and they start speaking to eachother. small things make great impression. it seems.
  22. it's easy to get angry at obsidian for all the bugs and the delays of a possible patch. but anger leads to the dark side. create an echo, that will travel far away. to the top of the head offices of lucasarts and activision... at least there is the restoration project: http://www.team-gizka.org/
