Well, using this system posted earlier:

90%+ = The best

85% - 90% = Second tier

80% - 84% = Great; but some major flaws

70% - 79% = Solid, and fun; this game won't win any awards though from me

61% - 69% = Some good parts to it; but overall I did not enjoy it as much as I could have

60% + lower = Worthless game

I would rate the RPGs I've played the following:

Baldur's Gate 1: 88%

Baldur's Gate 2: 95%

Icewind Dale 1: 78%

Icewind Dale 2: Haven't finished it

Neverwinter Nights OC: 70%

Neverwinter Nights SoU: 65%

Neverwinter Nights HoU: 85%

Morrowind: 90% (I realize the plot isn't the best, but the exploration aspects, and character building, as well as usermade mods, are top-notch, IMO. I don't really consider it an RPG in the "classic" sense, though, but others seem to)

Diablo 1: 70%

Diablo 2: 80%

Kotor 1: 90%

Kotor 2: 69% (I feel there was too much wrong, though it did have loads of potential to be great. But overall, I was more disappointed with the lacking parts than impressed with the good parts - overall negative impression)

The best game I have ever purchased, however, isn't an RPG, but an RTS, and that's StarCraft. I'd rate that 99%, and throw in Tetris at 97%. And F1 99-00 Challenge (PC, with mods) at 98%.

Better keep it to fairly recent stuff. Two scores, one for my personal rating and the other for what I would rate it for someone else.

Final Fantasy X - 99% 90%

Final Fantasy X-2 85% 80%

ShadowHearts 85% 80%

ShadowHearts II 95% 90%

Jade Empire 60% 80%

Revenge of the Sith 80% 80%

La Pucelle Tactics 80% 75%

Fire Emblem (GC) 99% N/A

Baten Kaitos 80% 90% (depending on whether or not you like the card system).

KOTOR II 90% 75%

Kingdom Hearts (GBA) 90% 90% (must have GBA title)

Warrio Ware (DS) 100% 100% but only in short bursts (w00t)

Pokemon FireRed 110% :)

Zelda Minish 90% 90% (another must have GBA title)

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

I see lots of ratings. Reviews, not so much.

Thread fails to deliver.

I'll start off with the best game I have played: Deus Ex.

First Point: no elves or orcs. Magic is limited to medpacks.:devil:

An interesting near-future scenario, ripe with intrigue and -- eventually -- overwelming conspiracies. Although the narrative is quite linear (which was addressed in the sequel), the tactics used to complete each "level" or geographic section are quite flexible, and there are three different ways to complete the game. For example, for my last play-through I didn't kill any third-parties who had no idea they were being used by a secret agency, prefering to tranquilize them instead.

I especially like the technique -- used later to great effect in Max Payne 2, as well -- where the PC is introduced to a new area whilst the NPCs are friendly, and then later has to battle back through said area under fire.

Gameplay is simple, but not simplistic; guns and munitions help the PC adopt either a full-frontal "tank" all the way to subterfuge and a "thief" attitude. Weapons can have imporvements added like damage, accuracy, ammo capacity and range mods, and a silencer. There is a basic "levelling up" feature, whereby completing plot advancements gains proportional points for use in any aspect of a dozen different skills. The skills are from untrained to mastery, and effect game play with aspects like toxic waste resistence and rifle or pistol control. There is also the opportunity to add bio-modification nanites of different and sometimes mutually exclusive powers; e.g. silent running or powerful leaping. And there are four levels of biomod power, as well ... :)

I also found the plot interesting, as I had read a lot about the various groups mentioned in the narrative before I had even heard of Deus Ex. Regardless, the plot is compelling and certainly contains all the necessary accoutrements for a rip-roaring tale. The pacing is sublime; the PC is only given powerful biomods later in the narrative, after experiencing how difficult a given task is without, and again with the added hurdle of a more dangerous enemy to test the new biomod.

I can't recommend this game highly enough, the only negative point I can bring myself to mention is the very long and involved plot is a little too linear to replay continuously (just continually, with a short break  ).

And it is also all true.
