How robes influence your character ?

I notes that during the game you get different robes.. and they influence how people response to you.. Eg. If you have a Jedi robe when you meet other Jedi's they are nicer to you.. or lets aggressive..

 

Also.. if you use the Jedi robe for a bit.. you find the Jedi Knight robe after few planets..

 

Do robes influence you character ?

 

Or is only my imagination ?

If you are wearing a robe that gives charisma or wisdom bonus (like the Ossus Keeper Robe), you sometimes (but very rarely) get additional dialogue options but that's all.

Those that give you Wisdom bonuses can help unlock a few more conversation options, but it's generally insignificant, if you have other decent attribs, such as a high Intelligence, or even certain skills.

 

The only object that will directly make people react differently to you is if you are holding a lightsaber, and even then, this seems to be limited to Dantooine.

Well, the British government is toying with the idea of banning hooded garments ("hoodies") because of the naughty boys that wear them. So I suppose the KotOR universe is the same ...
