Volourn's NWN Module

Yeah, monks are gonna be real tough. And, the axe is really hard to get 'cause not only do you have to be a lawfully aligned dwarf; as the background hints at, there might very well be a 'test' to prove your 'worth' of weilding it...

It's like those Star Wars EU names for the Chiss species.

Heh. Even DDs may not like the test. <>

Anyways, is there anything else you want me to cover? Anything specific and special..

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a custom weapon for the PC. I don't recall that in any of the mods I've played. Sure there's plenty of weapons that are usable by the PC by dint of wielding skills (exotic and whatnot), but none -- that I recall -- where only the PC can wield because it's theirs, like a few NPCs have had their own armour and weapons.

Is this a series biased towards dwarves? I mean, is it especially a disadvantage to be a (half-) elf, gnome or human?

No. Absolutely not. I think that's the next step - show some good stuff for elves, and others. Well.. except for half elves as they don't exist in Durnla...

As for a weapon only weildable by the PC... Hmm.. I don't like such specific stuff like that... That said, there will be oppurtunity to craft your own weaponry, and other magical stuff... Partilcaur, in ch2 there is a certain forge in the dwarven stronghold that holds surprises...

I really liked the intelligent sword idea from AD&D. It was kinda implented okay in HotU, but they obviously cut out a lot of the side quest for it

i.e. the quest on the island to infuse the Golem that you can make as a Mage class with the essence of the intelligent sword

.

Elves tend to annoy me, poncing around like royalty. Humans get an extra feat at first level, but it sucks that they can't see in the dark.

So whatchagot for the 'umans?

I might have an intelligent weapon or two; but that would require a lot to make it worthwhile...

Lots. Afterall, most places you go to evolve around humans, and the module is named after a human family. <>

"Elves tend to annoy me, poncing around like royalty. Humans get an extra feat at first level, but it sucks that they can't see in the dark."

Hehe. Doesn't matter much in NWN as darkvision/low light vision is barely useful, anyways...

Pah, intelligent weapons are so last year. What about intelligent armour, like a helm that can sense alignment (whatever alignment is :) ) or a pair of boots that don't get lost ...?

Most magical items outside of weapons can't be intelligent according to the rules. That said, ya never know...

Beware the boots that you piss off, and walks right into lava in an attempt to punish you...

Important Question: I have been refooling around with CEP as of late, and even though I had a negative view of it before, it has been growing on me.

Would you guys find it acceptable if I used CEP for ch2 or even starting with ch1?

There'll just be more monster models, portraits, weaponry, and armoury available. And, I'll be able to include a rust monster. Hehe. None of that is in the mod now. Before I add CEP; i wanna see who's game... espicially since I was majorily anti CEP before; and I'm just very slightly positve towards it now... It grows on you like fungus..

So, it'll be eaiser to differentiate between npcs, and the like so theya ren't all stuck with the same portrait. <>
