QQQ
It saddens me to see how underdeveloped the character of Mandalore (Canderous) is in KOTOR 2. Canderous may not have been the most ideal fighter in KOTOR 1 (basically, because he wasn't a jedi), but his war stories were really interesting, and I enjoyed listening to his character. I especially love the part when he gets in an argument with Bastilla and calls her a Jedi Princess! Now he's not only just another ranged fighter (that will just collect dust on the Hawk) but he's highly uninteresting, and conversations with him seem to go nowhere. The only improvement to Canderous seem to be his bad-ass body armor suit. Other than that, he bores me to tears... Oh, and FYI, ask him for stimulants on the Hawk. He says "HERE YOU GO!", and it sounds so out-of-character-pansy-ish!
Hey Steve
I concur, although I went to Onderon last, so I didn't have too much time to talk to him/develop him. I was also disappointed given that at the end of KOTOR 1 (if you follow his story) he seems to mellow a bit, so I was hoping he'd go into defending the republic. But that's just what I was hoping, so I can't really complain about that.
NeverwinterKnight
yeah canderous wasnt really fleshed out this time. although something tells me that part of the reason was the rushed release of the game. i think that, based on some elements, canderous was supposed to have a bigger part to play, especially with his "sidequests" of reuniting the mandalorian tribes on the different worlds. maybe if the game was given more development time we would have seen more of this and it would have been a more important part of the story, plus open up a lot more dialogue with canderous about this. Candyman with Baragwin Twin Blades or even 2 Bacca's blades can go through the whole SF, Malak included, like a hot knife thru butter. I even took on 2 rancors solo with him. It was pwnage for the rancors.

The wookiee can't wear armor at all, but Candy's armor can be upgraded to give a defense of +15 I believe.

Laozi
Canderous was uberlame, I can't say his character was rushed considering all the mandalorian crap everywhere, hes just poorly written. People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair. ~NightWolf~
Canderous was definitely better in the original Kotor. He barely had anything to say in Kotor II, and although the Mandalore armor is pretty cool, the fact that you could not change his armor did bother me somewhat; that should have been optional. Jedi Master D Murda
Canderous and his stories were really cool especially the whole mystery of him saying that the Sith came to the Mandalorians with an offer to fight the Republic, which turns out to be somewhat pivotal in the plot for K2 and quite possibly K3. Mandalore on the other hand was ok, his story of what happened to Revan, both light and dark, were cool but could have been given more detail so that they could have been better. ChaosRose_x
When I took my first shot at this game, I was hyped to see the return of Canderous in KOTOR II (as well as HK47). Although after playing around for a time and having him as a part of my crew for a while...he just sat there... He didn't have much to say, and his personality was a 180 in regards to the first game. That was a little disappointing for me at least anyway. In the first KOTOR, he was a smart, developed character with a smart aleck personality with remarks (ex: pair him up w/ Jolee on Korriban when you explain them to be your slaves). I liked having him as a part of my crew in KOTOR. I guess his personality quirk depends on which path you selected for Revan (if it was LS or DS). That may help explain the 'howdy neighbor' attitude when in regards to LS, but I would only expect him to show that kind of flick to Revan (but even that's a stretch)...not to anyone else. I just find it a little...disgusting that he would warm up so quickly to the Exile after only doing a few errands for him on Dxun. After traveling to Onderon, he treats you like you've been pals all along. Unacceptable. His dark side, kick ass attitude was made a mockery in this game. However in the second, he didn't prove to have much of a purpose, other than taking up space and collecting dust and providing a bit more interesting variety when it comes to reading minds. Although Mandalore may have appeared not to have said much in KOTOR II, there is a way to gain influence with him. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it, and if it had any affect at all on the conversation options. Otherwise, Mandalore may be a bit more interesting than we give him credit for.
