Lord Pahakala
Haven't played pen and paper games for almost two years now. Just to tell, I have played them like 9-10 years. Games I've played: D&D Rune Quest Stormbringer Middle-Earth GURPS ShadowRun Cyberpunk Twilight 2000 (I'm sure I forgot some games...) Well, but my favorites of those are: Rune Quest (First I ever played) ShadowRun And last but not least, D&D, not as pen and paper, but without rule books as text based storytelling via e-mail. A little off-topic at some points... Oh well.

Ross_Witchen
3 favorite PnP with continuous worlds: 1) All the D&D s (1973 version on up ) 2) Twightlite 2000 3) I.C.E. (a better D&D'ish version...for the dedicated hardcore D&D'ers only) 2 non-continuous world types, but PnP technically 4) ASL ( Advanced Squad Leader) 5) UpFront ( barely a PnP..used a card game mechanics) BTW...waaaa haappened to the General gaming Discussion sub-forum? Everythings a bit specialized on this forum. No Internet gaming discussion zones..etc. Sorry I haven't posted here 4 awhile..busy playing WOW. And yes, it still lags at major cities and in large battles. Still fun. Good for developing internet player to player communication, and organizational skills. Esp on PvP servers. EnderAndrew
Setting: Engel - German post-apoc religious game with Angels and the like L5R - Samurai and political goodness with fantasy twist (It should be noted that 7th Sea and the Lands of the Burning Sands are extensions of the L5R world) The new WoD Shadowrun Exalted Fallout PnP Systems: D6 Star Wars - quite possibly the best system I've ever seen. Toon - Simple and brilliant Earthdawn The New WoD I also want to point out that Arcana Unearthed by Monte Cook is well balanced, and a much better version of D&D 3.5, but I still really don't care for class/level systems. Lancer
AD&D 2nd Edition and OD&D would be my favorite gaming systems. My favorite settings within it are Mystara and Planescape. SLA Industries is quite possibly the most interesting cyberpunk setting I have ever seen though Shadowrun and Cyberpunk 2020 are also pretty nifty. I would love to run a post-apocalpytic RPG (ala Fallout) although nothing published exists to the best of my knowledge. Lancer

Guest Fishboot
1st edition advanced D&D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love how wacky and untested the "rules making" processes were back then for Gygax. There's this incomprehensible half-a-page table in the Player's Handbook that lists arbitrary to-hit bonuses and penalties for every weapon vs. every armor (including all of those insane polearms) and I'm certain not a single person who ever played 1E AD&D bothered with it. But Gygax was (is) as erudite as Nabokov... those books are a joy to read - and the 1E AD&D monster manuals are tremendous fun too.

Walsingham
I'm really pleased to see people still enjoying wfrp. I teethed on it, and really enjoyed the darker edge to standard hobbits-and-elves-and-unicorns(half)-and-mighty-wizards-doing-julie-andrews-impersonations-among-the-tree-lined-hilltops. And by darker edge, I don't mean white wolf 'oh isn't life hollow' gothboy dark. Can't think how to describe it. Maybe some of the other players can help me out. So my vote goes for wfrp. But I'd have an honourable mention for G.A. Effinger's Trinity game. The game is lousy, but G.A. Effinger was a great writer so I reckon he should be allowed. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
