roguefrog Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Well one of my former co-workers from the midwest (Detroit to be exact) kept touting how Californians aren't really living in the real world. There living in la la land, they don't know what the real world is like. This of course was when he was bummed over the fact that his wife was forcing him to move back to the midwest.
EnderAndrew Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Sawyer and the Midway crew should make an RPG called "Quest to the Dirt States"
Cantousent Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Quest for the dirt states.... I love it. I thought that was what Fallout 3 was supposed to be before they decided to put it in Morrowind. Child of Flame Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Sawyer and the Midway crew should make an RPG called "Quest to the Dirt States" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Post Apocalyptic Dirt States? I'm thinking something similar to the 'Glow' in Isaac Asimov's Space Trilogy.
EnderAndrew Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Now I'm picturing the Postman. Good book. Decent movie.
roguefrog Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Never seen the Postman. Now I have to see it. So whats the full title to the new PA cRPG? FailSafe: Quest to the Dirt States. (nice ring to it) Is Midway in pre-production yet?
Ellester Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Wow frog, I Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Judge Hades Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Now I'm picturing the Postman. Good book. Decent movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And not a bad song either. "Hey, Mister Postman!"
EnderAndrew Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I don't really know San Marcos, but if it's 30 minutes from San Diego, it's pretty far south.
roguefrog Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Ellester: I was born in San Diego but my parents are both from the midwest. (Illinois) San Marcos (which is still within the county of San Diego) is about 30 minutes north of Mira Mesa (which is in San Diego proper) where in lies a few game company locations. (SCEA, SOE, and Midway)
EnderAndrew Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 And there's a big naval base down there as well.
Ragamuffin Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 So? Its not a CRPG. I am more interested in J.E.'s work in CRPGs than anything else. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too. Josh Sawyer needs to find a dev team that will let him remake Darklands. I'd purchase that sight-unseen if Sawyer's name was on it.

Monte Carlo Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I lived in San Diego for a while, on Emerald Beach. TBH, it was rather dull. The weather's great, but that's about it. I much prefer San Francisco. Full of Volvo-driving communists, of course, but hey. Cheers MC

Anyway San Diego is far from boring if you know where to go and what to do. Not only that but if you are board with the city - You have mountains, deserts, oceans, mexico and L.A. all less then 2 hours away. And F San Francisco anyway. J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning

(a question mark with two exclamation points intensifies, one question mark indicates a question, four question marks are just freakin' annoying. 2. 'board' - should be 'bored' 3. 'mexico' - should be 'Mexico' (it's a place dear, capitals are important). 4. 'And F San Francisco anyway.' - Not sure where the hell you were going with this one, but it was so bad I had to make a fuss about it; besides, I noticed when I highlighted to copy it that you didn't space at the end. ZING!
Monte Carlo Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Emerald Beach is a short distance (south-ish) from La Jolla. It was a long time ago, perhaps it's a bit less dull now. Everybody was driving beat-up VWs with those strange vinyl things strapped to the front of the bonnet.
