Llyranor Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Tom Hall rocks. Anachronox is the funniest game I've ever played. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Judge Hades Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Okay, what do we need to do to convince Midway to let these guys all be on one project making a CRPG?
EnderAndrew Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Who was it that was going to call up Interplay and buy the rights to Jefferson? He couldn't afford a long distance call out to California to look up their number, but he thought he could buy the license.
roguefrog Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 And to think, the Midway San Diego offices are just down the road from where I work. We're practically neighbors. ^_^
EnderAndrew Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 It's gotta be tough living down in Sunny San Diego.
Guest Surlent Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 If I remember right, Harvey Smith also recently accepted a job in Midway. He was the lead designer of Deus Ex and project leader of DX: Invisible War.
Child of Flame Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 They will never make a CRPG with a lineup like that. If they did so, they would be assimilated by EA.

Child of Flame Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 But too many chefs can spoil the soup. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or it can make it extra delicious. (w00t)
EnderAndrew Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Are they all working on the same project?
Llyranor Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Maybe they'll be working on Daikatana 2 and add RPG elements to it! (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Ellester Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 When I assume this, am I correct? Midway only does console games. Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Ellester Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I think so. Sucks, doesn't it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, basically makes me care less what they accomplish, since I don Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Judge Hades Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 What we need to do is setup Midway that we can get all these designers to do one project, make it a CRPG, and for the PC. Hmm... Sounds like a Mission: Impossible scenerio. Dammit, where is tom Cruise when you need him.
roguefrog Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 It's gotta be tough living down in Sunny San Diego. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why, cost of living? I commute from San Marcos. 30min to an hour drive. Moving to Oceanside in Feb though.
Guest Surlent Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Are they all working on the same project? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think not. Remember Midway does loads of sports games too.
roshan Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Its too bad all their talent is wasted on working in midway. Specially maldonaldos and sawyers. BTW, does anyone have any idea why maldonaldo left obsidian?
J.E. Sawyer Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Are they all working on the same project? No. Tom Hall works on third party titles out of San Diego. John Romero is the Creative Director for San Diego and is working as a designer on a map for Gauntlet. Harvey Smith is at Midway Austin and I don't know anything about Warren Spector. Dave Maldonado and Terry Spier (Slyle) are also working on Gauntlet. twitter tyme

San Diego is probably my favorite city in the country.

EnderAndrew Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Next week. Midway is now a sub-division of Obsidian.
roguefrog Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Oceanslime? Not my favorite part of San Diego. I was being sarcastic about it being tough. San Diego is probably my favorite city in the country. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not too thrilled over moving to Oceanside ethier but thats where the cheapest condo is. Unfortunately I don't have a basis for comparison since I lived in San Diego/North County my entire life. In other words I've never lived in the real world. (i.e everything outside of California) I hear we have great weather. To this I must concur.
EnderAndrew Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Wow. A California admits there is a real world outside of California. I knew a bunch of people that simply referred to the Midwest as the "dirt states". One guy in San Diego though Omaha was Africa. No joke. He saw Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with lions and tigers. So he thought that's what Omaha was like.

(Last part I was just kidding, please don't rock my world with the first though. ) Anyhow, the Southern Californians call us up North Cow People....so we probably don't count anyway.
