You mean Tom Hall, John Romero and Warren Spector ? None of them are from Obsidian though.

So?  Its not a CRPG.  I am more interested in J.E.'s work in CRPGs than anything else.

 

 

What kind of game is it? Ive played the old c64 Gauntlet but I dont think theyll just rehash that concept.

I am sure that is the case but I liked J.E.'s work in CRPGs. He has a good head on his shoulders for the most part even though grenades aren't melee weapons.

Probably not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. It's like everything else, if folks manage to pull out the interesting facts and post about them here, I'm far more likely to take a real look at it. Otherwise... well, maybe a magazine will have an interesting article or a friend might discuss it with me. Since I follow development more than my friends, though, that doesn't seem likely.

 

I hope it does well, though. I like to hear about folks succeeding.

Barring Romero, Midway now has too much talent for it's own good.

 

And to think it's all wasted on a mindless gauntlet hack n' slash. The gods must be crazy.

Doesn't mean he can't work on a CRPG in the future. Common, Midway needs a kickarse Sci fi CRPG with J.E. in the lead. Warren can stop him from making grenades into melee weapons, but It would be so kickarse. :D

Geez, I had no idea they had a line-up like this one, and you even left out Romero from that list! They sure as hell don't lack talent!

 

Warren Spector was one of the most trusted game developers (by me) until he decided to put his name on Deus Ex: Invisible War.. But System Shock and Deus Ex shows he can do tremendous games if he wants. I just hope he hasn't lost his touch.

I know a lot of people was miffed about the change in the ammo system but I have read the reasoning behind it and it was sound. Nanofluidic gel release system for a projectile weapon would operate in the way that it did.

Wow, I had no idea one of my favourite Commodore 64 games was made by Warren Spector (Space Rogue, a very bugged Elite-type space trading game that totally destroyed the limits of what people thought was possible on a Commodore 64. it had filled-in vector graphics!) but that means I've enjoyed his games for 15 years!
