Indalecio Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 I knew this thread would eventually spiral towards the decadent. Are you saying the game should be light side only? Or are you saying it should be hetrosexual only? Well games that involve rape, homosexuality, sexual intercourse, etc. quickly get rated 'M' or perhaps even 'X'. And 'M' rated games typically do not sell well. Just ask MCA.

But didn't this poll start out with homosexuality? Didn't TOEE have homosexuality, and the BG saga involved rape (which procduced the bhallspawn). And while Fallout is a great game, it didn't sell that well.
Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 i buy em  Yes, we know you buy them. George Lucas doesn't like to be a smut-baron. "You shall not pass!"

Well, okay, but even Diablo 2 wasn't exactly what you'd call 'deep'. I would say it sold more, not because of its 'M' rating, but because it was so easy to get into and play. KOTOR 2 wouldn't have the same advantage.
Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Several of the more complicated CRPGs became inscrutable to the untrained player. And as for KOTOR, right now it's a game that parents wouldn't object to kids playing -- no blood, guts, sex, or drugs (well, the spice is in there, but you don't get high). "You shall not pass!"

Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Yes, they are sex slaves. Tell me, why does it fade to black for a massage? You are merely making an inference. There is no direct reference to sexual intercourse. "You shall not pass!"

Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Why does it fade to black for a kiss? Obviously they didn't make any kissing or massaging animation. Plus, it would probably get boring to just watch your PC getting a massage for half and hour. "You shall not pass!"

LOL, kissing is simple to do, that isn't the reason, and those pointlessly long corridors tell me they would have liked to found another way to stretch the gameplay time even further. The fade to black is a refernce to sex, if it was just a massage, why can't you get a same sex massage Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Seriously! I'd much rather be massaged by a beautiful woman than some oafish ogre-man. "You shall not pass!"

KOTOR requires lots of inventory management, has somewhat complex puzzles, lots of people you need to talk to, and moral decisions to make(though that wasn't particularly tough) What does Diablo have? *click**click**click**click*
Karzak Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Seriously! I'd much rather be massaged by a beautiful woman than some oafish ogre-man. Yet that doesn't explain why, if it was just a massage, same sex massage was forbidden. Obviously it was more than just a massage Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
Darth_Gandalf Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 You don't know that for sure. Circumstantial evidence is not enough. I'll believe it if a Dev says it and not before. "You shall not pass!"

There is not a lot of difference, D2and KotOR both have inventory management, selectable skills, required conversations, and lots of clicking, and boring combat.
