[Suggestion] Make it clear that One-Handed Style does not apply when a shield is in use

I just learned through searching on the internet that, the effect of the One-Handed Style feat does not apply when the character is equipped with a shield.

What a waste of a talent for my shield-using fighter companion. Had I known that, I would never choose it.

Its in-game description needs to be make clear about this so that no more players would think otherwise.

But you have more weapons slot, maybe you can reserve one for a set of one weapon and no shield for some situations

Thanks for the advice. I would like my fighter companion to be as tanky as possible, so I need him to have his shield equipped all the time.

Why don't you retrain that companion? It's not expensive and you can make sure to pick the correct abilities and talents anew.

But who would compensate me for that? I need to save money for buying an expensive item. It's unfair that I need to spend money because of unclear in-game description.

What do you mean? You expect somebody to compensate you for some virtual ingame money?

And why would you ask me - a fellow forum member and player - that question? 

I think it's a better solution than running around with a char you're not happy with or saving loading an older savegame and losing a lot of progress.

If you want to get that expensive item first then maybe run around with the non-optimal char a bit and retrain later when you have more money. You will figuratively swim in it at some point I think.

I was just expressing that I'm not supposed to spend my own in-game money for such an oversight of text design. If the devs could add a patch which introduces a "free retraining NPC" into the game, that would be helpful. Anyway, thanks for your advice.

"IRoll20s" then "GiveMoney x" replacing "x" with the cost of retraining the character.

Thanks. I thought about that. But because this is my first playthrough and it matters to me, so I would like to maintain a status of "cheat-free" for this one. It's just an ideology of mine, though.

Or, through console,  you can change your talents... but I think you can respec the char now, before respec cost will be higher and then buying the item; respec at low level is very cheap, you'll get the money back soon, trust us
Otherwise, you can be "an hero" and go around with an one hand hatchet fighter like no one before, till you but the item and respec him: in this case you'd have both +5 deflection and the one handed bonus
