Can Xoti tank as Monk/Contemplative? She can also use a shield, too, so perhaps doable?

EDIT: My Watcher is a Troubadour/Scion with healing/summoning focus.

Hmmm... but what is a Scion? :)

Xoti can be build rel. sturdy. High AR and other forms of damage reduction are key and even more important than defenses (butthose 😆 but those are important, too).
But she's not great as the only tank until you get to the more impactful spells, so tanking in the early-mid game will be meh. Also because until Champion's Boon she will have only few engagement slots. Not a big problem if you have some other sturdy frontliner who can help until you reach the right levels. But overall, as the only tank who's supposed to hold several enemies: not that great imo.

What's a butt hose? 😄

Best argument for xoti as a monk or contemplative tank is probably tuolito's palm combined with her free small shield proficiency, since tuolito's palm gets you defensive bonuses, wound generation, can be enchanted to provide even better defenses, and also gets monk fist damage scaling. As a second choice, her lantern is a pretty good tank choice because it helps with defensive buffs, healing, and getting mortification back on kills is pretty nice. Plus you can enchant it for either action speed or spell reflection.

That being said, IME it takes a while for her to get really good at it. Even with a small shield her defenses aren't that great, and you'll need to rely heavily on AR, which is harder for her than other classes (paladins, fighters, even barbarians have better support to get to higher AR). Litany for the Body can help, but you only get one cast until level 13, and all you need is one sickened to take away her +2 AR support.

Haha. 😄 It's totally harmless.

Just a shower for your buttocks that goes besides your toilet - if you have no bidet for example.

I guess tank is the wrong word. I want to know if Xoti could melee with some level of survival that my healing could keep up. For those who wear lighter armor, Aloth seems to tank better with his spells than Xoti's.

She's always in my front line - as SC Priest. Sometimes with Lantern + Sickle and light armor, sometimes with thick armor and Morning Star. Never had a big problem with that. So yes: she can take part in melee combat without getting knocked out all the time. But I do use a dedicated tank who takes most of the heat.

I neither use Barring Death's Door nor Salvation of Time. :)

single class priest are pretty difficult to kill with large shield and heavy armor

tried once in the mirror arena fight

if a character are healing summon focus

just give them a large shield and they will be tanky enough

Lantern + Sickle and light armor

I will give that a try, maybe she's just not high enough level. I suppose she could just use a range weapon for mono-tank situation.

Aloth will be my main tank in this run.
