Weiser_Cain Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Can I vote that I'm getting sick of polls? Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Daniel2525 Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Obsidian has already stated that the Kotor 1 theme was 'redemption' and the new theme for Kotor2: "we aren't going into a trememdous amount of detail about this yet, but I can say that we are exploring the nature of the mentor-apprentice relationship." --- Feargus Urquhart, CEO ObsidianEnt.

True_Alucard Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Anime? No way!! Anime is for others, I dont think that Obsidian would do good with anime(Even though I do love anime). They may make a good one, but I dont think it would be great. So I rather keep it fantasy.
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 What about a war genre? Maybe they could pull it off...or does war fall into historical?
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 What about the Great Hyperspace War? But really, I'm itching to play a really good WWII game, like a revolutionary WWII game...
daemonicus Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 I voted samurai but I was thinking more of a lone, betrayed jedi seeking revenge with RPGish elements. You could play it as a kill anything that gets in your way or seek only those that betrayed you. For some reason I think it sounds interesting.
Maria Caliban Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Romance. Something like Prince of Persia... "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Gorth Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 I would love a nice horror crpg as an alternative to the horror fps games out there. Nothing against Resident Evil (not really a fps, more like a horror Kotor...), it has the right atmosphere, the controls just suck on a pc. MCA, say hello to Lovecraft, Lovecraft, meet MCA “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Sorgoth Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Historical. A mix of TES, BG and Total War in a medieval setting with no magic.
meek Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 You forgot several themes, for example Steampunk/Industrial, Cyberpunk, Post-Nuclear...
mkreku Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 I voted for "post apocalyptic".. in my own little world, since that option didn't even exist. Sigh. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

JonIrenicus Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 Interesting poll!! I voted for Sci-Fi having in mind Fallout. I put my vote on romances too! Life... is strength. That is not to be contested; it seems logical enough. You live; you affect your world
@\NightandtheShape/@ Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 I voted High-School so Avellone can live his dream! It's needs to be done. Last game I can think of that touched on this theme was on the ZX Speccy, skool daze I think it was. "I'm a programmer at a games company... REET GOOD!" - Me
EnderAndrew Posted June 12, 2004 Author Posted June 12, 2004 You forgot several themes, for example Steampunk/Industrial, Cyberpunk, Post-Nuclear... Polls have a limit of 10 genres. There are many more.
Riciky Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 How about a game based on the watchmen comic. Avellone mentioned comics didn't he? I think of watchmen as mystery/sci-fi. It'd make a cool crpg, imho.
