Ivan the Terrible Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 I used to post on the Black Isle message boards as a somewhat more wee lad, anticipating Fallout 2 and making an ass of myself. At that time, the 'voice of Black Isle' on the boards was a canuck chap by the name of Dave Hendee. So is he dead? I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you But I get the feeling that you don't like it What's with all the screaming? You like monkeys, you like ponies Maybe you don't like monsters so much Maybe I used too many monkeys Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
Dennis Presnell Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Dave Hendee is very much alive. He returned to his native Canada, where he now serves as the Undersecretary to the Minister of MTEWP (the Ministry of Timber Exports and Wilderness Preservation).

From game development to timber exports? Hmmmm....ok. Interesting career choice. Thanks. mkreku Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Just a bit off topic, but.. does anyone know what happened to Alan Pavlish? He was one of the key figures behind Wasteland.. I looked him up on Mobygames and the last entry about him there was Deer Hunter 2003! Come on, Alan, you can do better than that! Anyhow, does anyone know where he works now and on which projects? Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Dennis Presnell Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Alan Pavlish... Ironically he is deceased. It's widely believed that his ghost haunts an abandoned amusement park. That's what I've heard anyway.

Dennis Presnell Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Really... I would think that the idea of Alan Pavlish's restless spirit haunting an abandoned amusement park would be a bit unbelievable.
EnderAndrew Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I'm still looking for some inside-joke or hidden reference in MTEWP. Don't ask me why.

Feargus Urquhart Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 After Alan left Interplay he went to Origin for a short time and then to FOX Interactive. I am pretty sure he is still living in California and is consulting for game companies. Interesting side note: My first full-time job at Interplay was as Alan's assistant. As for Dave, I am pretty sure he is in school and is still living in "the Interplay house". Which is a house in Irvine that various people from Interplay have lived in since about 1991, maybe two or three years earlier than that. Dan Spitzley (lead programmer on Torment) still lives there as well. Feargus Urquhart CEO Obsidian Entertainment, Inc.

EnderAndrew Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Was he a personal assistant? Perhaps he assisted Alan's person!
Sargallath Abraxium Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Hmmm... I guess my sources were wrong. :D ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... A long, long time ago, but I can still remember, How the Trolling used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance", And maybe we'd be happy for a while. But then Krackhead left and so did Klown; Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town. Bad news on the Front Page, BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage. I can't remember if I cried When I heard that TORN was recently fried, But sadness touched me deep inside, The day...Black Isle died. For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way
