August 29, 200421 yr If you look at other RPG's, they have implimented a system where you can collect a set of items 'armour, gloves, bows etc', and when you have the entire set you gain a stronger bonus. Would this be a good thing in KOTOR? Just for instance if we could collect Exar Kun's Robes +2 strength Exar Kun's Lightsaber +2 attack Exar Kun's Gauntlet +4 strength Exar Kun's Head set +2 dexterity Exar Kun's Belt +2 strength On their own you would get the individual bonuses, but if you equip a character with the whole set you would get +10 strength, +4 dexterity and +4 attack. I think this could be an interesting addition to the equipment abilities. What do you think?
August 29, 200421 yr Author Oh, has this been past to the dev's. Looks like a good idea? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we get a weekend programmer 4 I'll ask Akari.
August 29, 200421 yr Neat Idea, But i wouldn't want to have an exar kun outfit or something. Perhaps some sets of Jedi we dont see ingame or something but get mentioned in those datapads with some history to it .
August 29, 200421 yr I like it. It adds one more thing to work towards in the game. The only problem I can think of with it would be you would need LOTS of variations for armor sets, all with their own vastly different stats, just so your not stuck with the same couple of sets everytime.
August 29, 200421 yr I like the idea. Another great idea by the people who brought you beer milkshakes! "I don't see a problem...then again, SW isn't my life, so what do I know...." - some who makes 27.8 post per day on a SW forum!
August 29, 200421 yr Its a good idea, the problem is that the loot drops in KOTOR were not random at all. Sets and uniques are what gives a game with random loot drops like Diablo 2 its replayability. KOTOR is more story oriented and the randomness of loot was sacraficed.
August 29, 200421 yr After you defeat Brejik, you find an arm band and a belt, along with a few other items. The arm band and belt do a -5 to damage to melee attacks, but only work if you where them together.
August 29, 200421 yr Cool idea. Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.
August 29, 200421 yr Thats what we want more of. Another great idea by the people who brought you beer milkshakes! "I don't see a problem...then again, SW isn't my life, so what do I know...." - some who makes 27.8 post per day on a SW forum!
August 29, 200421 yr As macewindu stated, they do have this sort of thing in the first game with stuff like Brejik's equipment. It's an interesting idea, but I don't know if I'd want to be a "Exar Kun clone", where in order to get the bonuses I have to basically dress up exactly like him. Although maybe I'd be more inclined to dress like a former Sith Lord if they had, oh I dunno, a big black power suit with a black helmet and mask and black cape.... "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)

August 30, 200421 yr I think the point is to have various sets of items that have individual stats that are enhanced by using more than one at the same time, as per the Brejik example, not necessarily have the particular items sets of various Jedi and Sith of old. Personally, I think basic item sets for blaster wielders, vibroblade users, and the various Force adepts would be verra cool. Epic sets, where you find a piece at a time throughout the game, would just plain rock. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.
August 30, 200421 yr Thats too much Diablo 2 for you. "For ourselves, we shall not trouble you with specious pretences- either of how we have a right to our empire because we overthrew the Mede, or are now attacking you because of wrong that you have done us- and make a long speech which would not be believed; and in return we hope that you, instead of thinking to influence us by saying that you did not join the Lacedaemonians, although their colonists, or that you have done us no wrong, will aim at what is feasible, holding in view the real sentiments of us both; since you know as well as we do that right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."
August 30, 200421 yr but seriously if they do it, fine, hust make them powerful together, just aslong as I don't have to use them becuase they are the most powerful together. Strength through Mercy Head Torturor of the Cult of the Anti-gnome
August 30, 200421 yr Agreed. That, and it would be highly annoying to lug around two completely useless pieces of equipment until you can find the third. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.

It was hardly a traumatic experiance! By the end of the game i had tonnes of stuff which i sold to the rodian on the Yavin Station so i could buy the 2 special cystals. I hardly considered that a burden. Another great idea by the people who brought you beer milkshakes! August 31, 200421 yr This is an fantastic idea. It would be almost like a whole sidequest to collect various outfits from the far reaches of planets and try to collect all the peices. I for one would love this feature, and it can not be too hard to design, it is just changing the name of guantlets etc.
August 31, 200421 yr I would probably use the sets on my npcs as my character I just customise for the area I'm in
