I'm excited about the new patch and want to do the ultimate challenge. What do I need to do ensure that my attempt is verified? Is the savefile enough or do I need to record the many hours of play? If recording all the gameplay is necessary, is there a recommended software to use? I can't wait to attempt this. I want one of those 50 boss patches!

you need to have a full video recording (they say youtube playlist or dropbox folder of videos), in addition to the save file.

i haven't figured out a good recording software to use, but my AMD tuning software comes with some built-in recording software, so I'm going to give that a try and then upload to youtube later. Nvidia should have something similar.

I'm recording with OBS Studio, its open source and free. The NVIDIA overlay recorder tends to take alot more bandwidth and processing power for streaming and recording in comparison. https://obsproject.com/  <-- the link to the recording/streaming software. I'll be streaming my run at some point to at https://www.twitch.tv/diethighlander

Appreciate your answer @thelee

Just be sure to save your VODs and upload them to YouTube, since you're not partnered, your VODs will go away.

Whats this at obsidian.net?

If you're on updated version of Windows 10 there is also game bar (win key + g) built in that will record.

Good luck!

If your on mac you can do it with QT too and or VLC - I assume you don't need the audio correct just the video?  I own a program called Movavi but it costs a little money, but has tons of encoding features :)

While playing badminton yesterday with a friend of mine, we were discussing the various ways of playing computer games. It's really interesting to see how different approaches people have for games like these, and it's also nice that this is actually acknowledged by (some) developers. Like, personally I couldn't care less about the ultimate challenge (I'm in it mainly for the story, but with a challenge, so the Veteran difficulty is plenty fine for me), but I do think it's lovely that it's there.
