Gift from the Machine ?

I have done a half a dozen playthroughs with imported characters from PoE 1, some with and some without Effigy's Resentment, and none of them have regained Gift from the Machine in Hasongo.  All the ones with Effigy's Resentment have regained that bonus, however.  Is this a common occurrence? It seems impossible to regain Gift from the Machine, but I see that other players have gotten it. I am currently playing 2.0 on a Mac, but it has been this way in every version so far for me.

I use custom save states, so can't comment on experience. If you upload some of your PoE1 saves they may be able to investigate it better. Possibly also a save from just before interacting with the adra pillar in Hasongo?

As thundercleese has noted, we'll need the PoE 1 gamecomplete.savegame files that you imported as well as your POE2 save file before interacting with the adra pillar in the Lighthouse in Hasongo. Could you please let us know what version (ex: Definitive Edition) and what platform (ex: Steam) that you own both POE1 and POE2 on so that I may give you the absolute correct file locations for these? I'm going to attempt to give you file locations assuming you own both on Steam:

 

POE2 Save File location: ~/Library/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity II

POE1 Save File location: ~/Library/Application Support/Pillars of Eternity/Saved Games

I've had this identical problem with two complete games, each importing a different PoE1 savegame.  Effigy's Resentment is regained, but not Gift from the Machine.  I'm on Windows 7 and using the GoG standalone versions of both PoE1 and PoE2, so this is not a Mac-specific issue.

This is still an issue with patch 2.1, using a third PoE1 savegame. I don't know if the OP was able to provide savegames or not, but I actually have a pre-Hasongo save available now. Is there a preference regarding whether these should be attached to the forum post or emailed?

Didn't know you were suppose to get Gift from the Machine there. Are you suppose to get both that and the effigy?
I've only gotten the effigy myself with an import.

Gift from the Machine never returns. I actually dropped all save files already here:

Bug still persists in 2.1.
