  2. STING OF DEATH (1966) - low budget regional horror film. More literal WTFs than I've experienced in awhile. Sloppy filmmaking, goofy scenes, people not seeing things in front of them or hearing things near them. One scene apes the shower death in Psycho, because what that film needed was someone in a wet suit with a giant jellyfish on their head as the killer.
  3. Well he wanted to try and hit it off with the real Dr. Brahms, but that didn't work so well. So he's not completely adverse to non-hologram romance.;)
  4. TNG again. MASTERPIECE SOCIETY was pretty rubbish, with Troi acting out of character in a poorly done romance (if they needed one, which they didn't, why not use the scientist and Geordi?) CONUNDRUM was a step up from the recent episodes, but has some silly moments and the fake crewman went to mustache twirling villain quickly. Ro-Riker-Troi was fun.
  5. My dad grew up in a company owned coal camp. Seems an odd idea to ressurect.
  6. I thought it might have more of a chance to actually penetrate by tying the conspiracy crap to Jan 6 which still seems to have some people shaken, so that could be part of the message carrier. But I gleefully admit to probably being wrong (although I've thought the Dems and the Repubs are too busy shooting themselves in the foot to really bother much with trying to shoot one another).
  7. I gotta admit, this is the bit I don't understand from the Democrats; failure to act by the Republicans could have been used against them without penalty from the Dems it'd seem to me(something like 'the Republican party says it rejects they type of conspiracy theories that led to January 6 at the Capitol, but when a conspiracy theorist in their party was elected to Congress, they rallied around her! We urged them to act, but they chose to do nothing" etc, etc), but by removing Taylor-Green from her committees, they've handed the Republicans the narrative that the Dems want to disenfranchise voters on a platter ("we may all agree that MTG was out there, but how soon before the Dems declare your views and values as unworthy of their government halls...?") Maybe its just me?
  8. So...political appointees who serve under a particular President and are no longer employed when that president leaves are told incorrectly they're going to get benefits, then don't because their job ended, and its Biden's team's fault?
  9. There's at least one Nuclear expansion going on in the US. Plant Vogtle has a long gestating (and not non-controversial) addition of two units that started in 2013, with tentative commision dates in 2021.
  10. Its amazing what you don't think of when you don't regularly organize events like this.
  11. A Chick-fil-A manager saved a drive-thru Covid-19 vaccination clinic after traffic backed up
  12. Huzzah then to William Hubert and the Chicago White Stockings, Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Stockings, Hartford Dark Blues, New York Mutuals, St. Louis Brown Stockings, Cincinnati Reds and Louisville Greys who joined his crazy idea (and who all helped Hubert from losing his top players due to NAPBBP sanctions... )
  13. Eh, it was pretty gratuitous. Then again I didn't really like Ninja Scroll, so I might not be the best judge.
  14. I hadn't heard whe he first announced he had cancer that it was stage 4 lung cancer. Apparently at that point it was super aggressive. In other news. Hal Holbook passed away.
  15. I doubt you'd get Carter; the democratic candidates who had the most success in the primaries of 1976 weren't national politicians (Brown, Wallace and Carter), which in itself suggests the party was looking for something not connected with national politics as a reaction to Nixon. You'd probably get RFK's VP vs Reagan in 1976 (assuming RFK got two terms).

  17. ^You should be able to just cut & past the link to the tweet, and the forum software will do the work. Example:
  18. Steven Seagal about not working on an Expendables film - "I just don’t like some of the people involved. Life is too short to work with funny people." That said, Seagal is allegedly difficult to work with. He also allegedly would only do Machete if his character, rather than losing to the title character, fought him and killed himself rather than be shown defeated.
  19. @Darkpriest Maybe, but a number of people seemed to like the split, so I figure we'll wait and see a bit longer.
