  1. Yes, 7.11 is the latest stable driver for both kotor games. You can use more up to date drivers however, as long as you place the 7.11 atioglxx.dll in the kotor1/2 folder. This way kotor will use the older opengl driver while everything else will use the newest.
  2. The fact they actually released something (which is brilliant) and allow other people to modify or improve their work instead of being so butt hurt about it all the time? I think that's going a bit far. A lot far, actually. Obsidian made TSL, LucasArts published it. TSLRP is just a mod, and lots of games have mods. Steve, then please search for kotor 2 in google. Team Gizka's page comes before lucasarts in the first page, and obsidian's not even there.
  3. TG NEVER big-noted themselves, never forced people to find out about the cut content, never forced people to get excited about the mod. HAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAH HAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAAHHAHAAHHAAH HAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAAHHAHAAHHAAH HAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAAHHAHAAHHAAH
  4. You mean this? What the hell. Nothing of this was in their site yesterday, not a single word mentioning K2.
  5. Has anyone else noticed that Biowhore did not even mention about K2 anywhere on their site?
  6. We from the codex will start working on the leaked beta and finish this sooner than TG, not to mention take all the credit. We've waited long enough.
  7. And after that they're off to the beach to check out babes in bikinis. And after that, the NFL preseason begins... And another four years go by...
  8. Oh great, so now It's called a mod...... What happened to Restoration? As far as we all have been told this was supposed to be a restoration project, now it has added content not originally available with the game, new written dialog, what next? New force powers? New items? Nude patch? If this is what this project has become then it has served no purpose at all and I hope to never see the abomination it will be. If I wanted to mod K2 then I would simply go to kotorfiles.com and download all the crap they have stored in there made by fans with no intention of staying as close as possible to the original game.
  9. Poor Sega, it will get all the blame now for "pushing the release date" when this game is released and is as bug ridden/unfinished as Obsidian's previous titles.
  10. The driver version I recommended you is from november 2007. It's the latest version known to work fully with KOTOR. The x1050 is not a top of the line video card but it should be enough to play both KOTOR 1 and 2. People at Rage3D forums (it's like a dedicated unofficial ATI forum) have mass emailed ATI about these issues (myself included) among other various problems introduced since driver version 7.12 but ATI has yet to acknowledge anything. Lately it seems as if their drivers are not even beta tested anymore since there are various bugs from years ago emerging once again.
  11. This happens with both Kotor 1 and 2 with ATI drivers versions: 7.12(december 2007), 8.1(january 2008), 8.2(february 2008). It's been confirmed by many users from other forums (first time I've seen it discussed here) but ATI hasn't said anything about this problem and I doubt it will solve it anytime soon. It screws up frame buffer effects with KOTOR and there's no fix other than disabling frame buffer effects altogether, which I find unacceptable. I recommend that you use ATI drivers version 7.11, it's the one I'm still using and it works fine with everything else I've played. I'm using a x1600pro by the way.
  12. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm not fooling myself anymore, that's for sure. Yea ok, so Lucas screwed obsidian with Kotor2, and then Atari screwed them up with NWN2. Poor obsidian, always taking it up the ***. I'm sorry but ob ruined two series in a row and both times it was developer's fault. I'm not falling for this kind of excuse again. If they had any respect for themselves or their consumers the issues that plague both games would've been resolved by now. Look at the piss poor camera on NWN2, still not fixed. The piss poor performance for such a lackluster graphical engine. Hell, The Witcher uses a refined Aurora engine and it looks better and mostly important, performs better than anything ob have done. Right click delay to bring up a menu? WTF! Who the hell had this idea. The radial menu on NWN1 was freaking brilliant. You could easily access every character feat and whatnot in a flash. Multiplayer ruined completely and beyond repair. Reusing the SAME sounds from NWN1 was the final straw. OB took everything good from NWN1 and dumped it into their trash can and rolled back years of advancement. Then in KOTOR2, you have characters that I could care less if I ejected them from the airlock on the Ebon Hawk, an ending that explains nothing, a hack'n'slash frag fest through the majority of the game, a copy and past plot from the first game (remove star maps from the quest log and replace it with the jedi masters and BOOM, the same thing all over again). I could go on the whole day but I'm not wearing out my keyboard for it.
  13. I think you misspelled when you said EAA on your original post, never heard of it and it doesn't exist anywhere on KOTOR's options. It's actually called EAX, and this card supports up to EAX 3 instructions, whereas the Live goes to a maximum of 2. Now if your really want to know what it does, I suggest you google for it since it's hard to explain, but it gives environmental effects to your audio and makes everything sound way more realistic.
  14. Honestly, Creative is terrible when offering support for their hardware. I had a Live card like yours and had tons of problems and overall poor audio quality using their drivers. As a workaround I used the KxDrivers which offers superb sound quality but there's a drawback, NO EAX. But back on February I gave up on my good old Live and got myself a humble and cheap Audigy SE for $30 and couldn't be happier since then. The audio quality is ages better than Live's and works with everything. The drawback is that this card doesn't process audio on hardware, but rather on software. Some people claim it hurts gaming performance but IMO I haven't noticed any performance difference compared to my old Live card. If I were you, I would pick this Audigy SE card since it's really cheap and gets the job done. It's like an onboard card (performance wise) but with audio quality comparable to a high end one. Just make sure it comes with the installation cd because the newer drivers suck.
  15. "Size means nothing to the Force!" It's probably due to the dual core processor rather than the 8800GT. Try setting CPU affinity for 1 on task manager. Since I don't have a dual core processor (yet) I'm not sure what else you could try. Someone in here should be able to offer you more help.
  16. The pros: Intro Music The cons: Everything else.
  17. You did it again Obsidian, thanks. Not only you ruined the Knights of the Old Republic series from BIOWARE, now you ruined Neverwinter. 2 in a row, congratulations. The story is so poor, so easy to predict. The graphics don't make up to the ABSURD system requirements, sluggish out of the box....... man I don't even know what words to use to describe this "thing" you made.
  18. What scares me the most is not what happend to Kotor2 or might happen, but knowing that it's Obsidian who's making Neverwinter Nights 2. If they screw up this one (and by judging their amazing customer support and care for kotor2, they probably will) I gonna cry
