  1. Recently, I'd have to jump on the Fable bandwagon. After a few hours I it didn't matter that I could do "anything" I didn't care about what would happen next. In the past, every Mega Man after the third one. Stopped paying attention once they got the X stuff. As a kid played Mega Man 2 and 3 so much I could beat them in one sitting, but then they made the same game over and over. And a Mega Man imitation Final Fantasy? It just breaks my heart. They need to revialize Mega Man like they did Ninja Gaiden, Prince of Persia, and like I hear they're going to do with the Legend of Zelda. Not that the recent Zelda's are bad, just aimed at middle school kids. They should let these series grow up with the people who are playing them. The young 'uns can get their own IP's.
  2. Hello all, The first 3 times I tried to play KOTOR 2, I would get about 5 to 7 hours into it and start to have major loading problems, sometimes from the the start menu, more often within the game. My XBOX was making weird high pitched squeals, but nothing would happen and I would sit there and stare, doing my best to resist the urge to throw my controller through the TV screen. BUT on the last time though I noticed that it happened on Telos right after I went swoop racing. So I cleared my XBOX's hard drive (because a corrupted save file is causing the freeze) and started over, determined to avoid swoop racing. It's a non-critical part of the game anyway. Now I'm on Dantooine enjoying one of the best games I've played in a long time. So, clear out your hard drive, don't go swoop racing. It's working for me, should work for you.
  3. Dude, I'll be happy to get anything. After that whole IP mess ... I'm just glad SOMEONE is going to do the game. The stories are there, they need to be told. And if Obsidian (who should be doing it) isn't going to, I can't think of anyone who would do it better.
  4. Green Knight asked about other games to play rather than PS:T. That's the problem I'm having. It seems there are no developers out there making games with a great story other than Obsidian and Bioware. We had Fallout and PS:T, we had BG and IWD, then we had KOTOR. But now what? Fable could have been soooo much more. Ninja Gaiden was (for me) the perfect game, except that the story sucked. I remember liking Prince of Persia:Sands of Time (haven't played Warrior Within yet), but it wasn't quite there. So what can we do but hold the stories built by the people at Bioware and Obsidian as the gold standard? What else is there?
  5. I'm with you metall1x. I want the huge deep story and slow experience gain that you get in KOTOR, but I want to chop some arms and legs off with a lightsaber too. If someone could just combine Ninja Gaiden's combat with everything else KOTOR, I'd be happy as a clam. That's why I'm soooo looking forward to Jade Empire. From what I've read, it looks to have that complex deep world, but also you get to fight. And I mean really fight. I hear what you guys are saying about the strategy, but after a few hours in, my combat strategy is pretty much set for the game. I'd like to see more challenges to change strategies as the game goes on. Not finished with KOTOR 2, but in one, the only real combat challenge I had was beating Malak.
  6. Finding an RPG with good balance made before 2000 is like finding a needle in a haystack. Making a game consistently hard all the way through is an art, one hard to perfect. Even BIS games (ie Fallout = just shoot em in the eye) have balance problems. But that's not why I play RPG's. It's the excellent story (and you can't beat BIS on that). Games with great story, interesting combat, AND balance? I can only think of KOTOR, which I guess is why I'm on this board. But, yeah, those people who write Faq's for beating games without upgrading weapons, or who play Final Fantasy until they're level 99 ... I wish I had their job, where they can sit around playing games all day.
  7. Wait a minute, Take Two IS big. Their Rockstar's publisher. They're the ones profiting on all the GTA games. This is just as bad as EA's deal with the NFL. The only reason I can think that people aren't all up in arms is because less people care about baseball. This is stupid what these publishers are doing. Competition is what makes the marketplace great. We as customers are going to lose out because of these deals.
  8. Right, but he's done so much in the past that he needs to make up for. And maybe helping a few berks in the planes is a start. But I played TNO as neutral good. Different alignment, different way of playing.
  9. Sounds like it's your playing style. If you use blasters and mines and stealth then of course strength's not going to help you. But I take vibroblades (especially in the beginning) stock up on flurry and burst of speed and run around enemy to enemy smackin' em around.
  10. define "a lot". ive only seen about 10 forumers complain about this on a consistent basis. yet everytime someone complains they like to say "everyone" is having this problem. thats simply not true. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK, point taken. According to a poll in this forum, last I saw there were 66 people out of 160 or so that took the poll that were having this issue. Now I realize that people having problems are going to be more prone to take (or even to find) the poll than people not having problems. But from my point of view, any people having this problem is too many. This sort of thing should be caught and fixed in QA. And you also must understand the level of frustration that comes along with the problem. I'm a huge fan of the devs past work and I was so excited to play this game, but now I'm having frustrating bugs just like I did with Fallout 2. And this time, I can't do anything because I bought the game for Xbox, not PC. Just wish someone could tell me what I can do to not get frozen loading screens anymore.
  11. Fallout by far. The storytelling was better.
  12. But a lot of people ARE having this problem.
  13. My game just freezes alot. It seems to start when I swoop race on Telos. From there on out, it's hell trying to get the game to load. The deleting everything on my hard drive worked once, so I'm gonna do it again. This'll be the third time. VERY frustrating devs. Please send some sort of fix out there.
