If this turns out to be true... well. You can't take the moral high-ground and be a scam artist at the same time. Edit: That said I'd wait for more info on this before getting too riled up. This looks to me like more anti-feminist propaganda, are there other links that support this? Some journalist called her for a statement regarding it, she hung up on him, which isn't damning, she's been through a lot. But right after she removed references to iFred from the depression quest page. Why remove references? Why wouldn't she just donate some money?

I think I have seen Moebius Strip that wasn't as onesided as that article.

I have to say you have a way with words " a literal ton of fat, sweaty, socially inadequate man-flesh wobbling in rage over women" Don't you have some grandstand against offensive language? I think you have mentioned multiple times how bad offensive language is. But I guess it is only bad when it is against someone who you agree with. Please don't make Volourn right and reveal yourself to be a bigot.

It's also just his own questions, his own answers and no discussion to be had. Different questions and different answers wont be heard. It's a sad, sad article.

A fine interview indeed.

Everybody dies... and apparently if I go to greater rift tier 26 I die really really quickly. RIP lightning mage.

If those people actually cared about women in gaming, as players or developers, they would have at some point written an article about The Fine Young Capitalists Indiegogo campaign, but they haven't. It goes against their agenda, their last straw to be considered as a relevant piece of media instead of glorified advertisers: "Gamers hate women and we are fighting the good fight." Labeling those who are against them as "misogynist" isn't first defense for feminism. It is first defense against feminism. It reinforces the idea that women are weaker than men, women can't take it, aren't equal, therefore they must be protected by someone who can take it, who is stronger, a man. All those "journalists" who wrote those "gamers are dead" articles are full of ****. It isn't a misunderstanding. It is a fact.

“I understand that people remain very angry at what they see as journalists lashing out at the community in general, and whilst I won’t try and justify that (or even entirely accept that this isn’t even true) I’d like to ask you to consider this: When the community you’ve worked so hard to serve choose to stand beside a group of manipulative misogynists rather than entertain the idea that you might not actually be corrupt, how do you think this makes people feel? So much of this argument boils down to a misunderstanding – the games media aren’t calling you misogynists. They don’t think you hate women. But you’ve decided that your distrust of the media is so strong that you’d rather side with dangerous bigots than believe that the media might not be corrupt, that’s a hell of a statement to be making.” Great. They still blame those who ask for more transparency as misogynist and bigots. RPS really hasn't learned anything from this. No wonder there are no comments allowed.

I have no problem at all with 4chan starting #NotYourShield, because I don't think everyone at 4chan is a white male. Just like not every gamer is a white male. It is simple as that.
-
What took her so long? If I would have to guess we are going to see dozen gaming articles claiming how #gamergate has been proven to be misogynist 4chan raid against women or just Zoe.

You do realize that those are just notepad versions of the chat, they don't show anything and are easily doctored. I edited my previous post a bit. You are of course right. Changing something in notepad is super easy, but is there even need for it? Those notepad logs just give slightly more context. Zoe posted chat logs aren't proof of anything so there is no need to disprove them.

*cough* http://imgur.com/a/Mfh61 Even her cherry picked chat logs aren't proof of anything. I'm not sure how to take this. She had to read those logs in order to cherry pick from them, but they still don't make any sense.

The music bit that comes when the interview ends(19:54) is a victory music for one the races in Star Control, but I can't remember which one and it is bothering me.

It's exactly what they are doing. First they say how bad the gamers are and then later on "clarify" that they are only talking about small group of gamers, but the connection has already been made: "all gamers are bad". It's a basic trick, but if you can't see it then you can't see it.

I'm sorry. I should have explained myself better, but I was never one for long posts. I'll try to do better this time. The reason why I used "hate speech", even when it didn't fit the definition, was because the rhetoric used is the same. Examples: "Muslims are terrorist." "That's racist. Majority of muslims aren't terrorists." "Obviously I'm talking only about the muslims who are terrorists." "Blacks take advantage of welfare." "That's racist. Majority of blacks aren't like that." "Obviously I'm talking only about the blacks who do that." "Women can't drive." "That's sexist. Majority of women can drive." "Obviously I'm talking only about the women who can't drive." They use this technique so they can safely blame whole group of people for actions of few. They use this technique because in their minds all muslims are terrorists etc. and they want you to think the same. What's even worse that it seems to work, at least when you don't see it for what it is. "Gamers are misogynists." "That's not cool. Majority of gamers aren't like that." "Obviously I'm talking only about the gamers who are misogynist." To my mind that is hate speech even when it doesn't fit the definition, because it's only used to spread hate. I still don't like long posts so I'm going to end this with a video from boogie.

Could you be more specific? Because I haven't heard of any articles where someone who has slept with a developer gave that person a good review or anything of the kind. That's what I found so fascinating about this "scandal" - the facts were entirely made up. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/01/08/admission-quest-valve-greenlights-50-more-games/ Granted it's positive press and not a review. There was some other time as well where Nathan Grayson singled out Depression Quest in positive manner, but I don't remember where.

To me it sounded same as saying muslims are to blame for 9/11. It doesn't make it okay just because we know most of muslims don't fly planes into buildings. It was, for lack of a better term, hate speech. Taking the actions of few and painting everyone to be the same. ...and they way it was done, 10 articles on a same day. It was organized hate speech.

A totally accurate historical documentary of the events so far has been released at youtube. Be sure to turn your subtitles on!

So if someone still thinks that 10 articles in gaming magazines in one day all promoting the idea "gamers are dead" was a coincidence... https://twitter.com/legobutts/statuses/501855043612848128 These people are using their connections in gaming media to push their own agenda.
