  1. OP thinks buffs are useless in PoE while complaining the fights are too hard. 'Nuff said, I think?
  2. Maybe you shouldn't pretend like you speak for the majority of the playerbase, buddy. I don't think you have any possible way of knowing how many bugs other people have experienced or how many are exploiting to win. I get it, you're upset. I've had a few frustrations myself, including losing an entire save file early on. It sucks. But that still doesn't mean you, or I, get to speak for anyone other than ourselves. You've already expressed that Obsidian lost you as a customer. That sucks. Maybe you should move on now. You've expressed your discontent, told them you won't be buying any more. Why are you still here? Is your sole purpose to make Obsidian feel bad? I can't imagine why else you'd feel the need to stay and continue badmouthing the game.

  4. Have noticed a bug that's extremely dangerous and frustrating. It seems like, when I let my party members (mainly melee) go into the fray on their own with the AI controlling them, they will break engagement multiple times to get to an enemy they've arbitrarily chosen. It shouldn't be this way; if they get engaged, unless you've given them a direct command to leave engagement, they shouldn't. I'm not sure why it's not working this way already; the enemy AI doesn't break engagement arbitrarily, neither should your party. On higher difficulties, this can mean squishier fighters being instagibbed if you don't pay close attention. Now, obviously, the solution is to turn the AI off and do everything manually... but that kind of defeats the point, doesn't it? Edit: upon further looking, it also appears sometimes your character will disengage even though they aren't moving away/aren't moving at all. Sometimes it happens in rapid succession. My druid went into melee (don't ask) against 2 skeletons and engaged with both of them. No other enemies present. After engaging with them, one of them randomly hit her with a disengagement damage. Not sure why or how, she didn't move. And upon further looking at my combat logs, the exact same thing happened to my fighter when he went in (same fight). Something clearly screwy here.
  5. Can you please expound upon how this patch is 1.7 GB? It doesn't make any sense that bug fixes would be that big, so I'm assuming there's some kind of art/music/effects content.
  6. I just lost about 4 hours of progress thanks to the same thing. I can't even put into words how disgusted and disappointed I am by this.

  8. Nevermind. I lost the save file completely and the linked one is from an older version because I got confused about which of the three save folders PoE has created was actually the current one. Now my game is lost permanently, so.
  9. As an update to the above complaint about save game locations on PC... just been drug over the coals trying to figure out what was wrong with my save game. Turns out PoE has generated not one, not two, but THREE separate save game locations on my computer. There's on in LocalLow (deprecated, I guess), one in My Documents (also deprecated, I guess), and one in C:/Users/YourUserName/Saved Games/Pillars of Eternity/. None of these are in a particularly good place, but I guess the most recent one is an improvement.

  11. Not sure if this has been said yet, but in general it's good practice to *not* dump save files in My Documents. %appdata% on PC is more appropriate, though not quite as user friendly. The optimal place would be with the game files in Steam/SteamApps/Common/PillarsofEternity. On OS X it should go in /Application Support/Pillars of Eternity or /Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/Common. Just general application and video game best practice advice. Cheers.

  13. Yes, I did hear about the push back of the release date- and like I said, I really do understand. I'm not trying to bash them for that, however, I just feel that communication has been a bit lacking since. And I'm just a bit miffed that after several hours of play my game isn't playable anymore. I'd like to at least have a "confirmed bug" or something posted that would give me some closure on my save file. Right now I'm just floating in limbo not knowing if it's something stupid I'm missing or a legitimate bug.
  14. I bit disappointed myself that this section doesn't seem to be seeing any love. Maybe the bugs are fixed for the full version of the game- I don't know. But I'm also a bit miffed the last update on their website was November and the game was slated for a Q4 2014 release. Now, don't get me wrong, I *totally* understand that quality game comes before release date- I'm all for that- but some communication would really be nice given that release is now slated for the next month. I, too, have a fairly gamebreaking bug that has ended my game which hasn't had a reply at all yet.
  15. Beetle damage is ridiculous. I almost just uninstalled the entire game because it's so broken- was my second attempt at playing PoE after ragequitting the first time because of bad combat experience. Went out there and died like 14 times in a row to those beetles, even trying to pull them carefully etc. I realize it's just beta, but a *little* QA on the difficulty might be in order. I decided to give the game one more chance because I really care about what PoE is trying to do and went to other zones and realized that the beetles are just ridiculously broken. Why the **** would beetles be scarier than dragons, cultists, trained assassins, etc....
  16. So... My main character has hugely negative accuracy. This persists across multiple weapons, no weapons, reloading the save, resting at the inn, etc. It's WAY negative, too- negative 52 for my bow, -33 for my spear (and I have the accuracy feat for both of these weapons). I can't figure out what's causing it. I have no negative modifiers, the character screen doesn't say I have any negative effects... just makes the game unplayable, though.
