  1. some people (nightcleaver) are giving bioware way too much credit for the twist in Kotor.

yes, it was well-written and I'll admit that it took me by surprise, but to suggest that only they could think of it is ridiculous.

MY point wasn't necessarily that the protagonist/antogonist switch hadn't been done before, but the REVAN switch hadn't been done before.

revan is only a character, like harry angel in angel heart, so by using that logic the switch in that movie hasn't been done before either. the twist is exactly the same - the protagonist is really the antagonist. the only thing that changes is character name (which is irrelevant) and the circumstances which lead to the 'revelation'.

replace de Niro's Lucifer with Malak and you have a carbon copy of the leviathan scene.

  2. I'm thinking that T3 is there to help repair the ebon hawk, but I'm not sure if repair was one of his skills. That shows how much I used him in Kotor. I can't remember a damn thing about him except that he could open a door. oh wait, maybe the ebon hawk has a lock? yeah that explains it. he gains you access then becomes useless again.

  3. All they have to do is space out the feats and powers more - the powers especially. It was the ability to 'spam' the force that made high level a joke. And you can't really get any stronger than you were in Kotor. if you add 10 levels directly to your original 20, then yes you'd be way overpowered, but 20 levels in Kotor2 won't be the same. You might need a prestige class to use those uber powers, with a few restrictions too.

  4. I'd only want Bastila around if she was the darkside version. Much better than the lightside Bastila who I can't stand... far too preachy.

No one on that list should have more than a 'cameo' role, imo, except maybe HK-47.

oh, i forgot about T3, he's already been confirmed as a returning character.

  5. Will there be a "push" feature, preferably implicit? Sheesh it was frustrating getting caught in corners, because party members wanted to hug you or somehing

yeah, something similar to BG2's 'push' would be nice, nothing worse than party members that block your path and refuse to move.

Is the no violence/adult action thing a Lucasarts thing or a "rating" thing (i.e. target audience)

A bit of both probably. I'd appreciate more 'adult action' in kotor2 but that might be unrealistic.

  6. 3 party members is fine. 5 would be way too many. i think large parties are too hard to manage, especially in combat with the poor AI, and i don't really want to hold their hand all the time. Not to mention, it would really clutter the place up - it'd be murder trying to navigate them around small areas. they still tend to get stuck on 'scenery' or go in the wrong direction. 5 npcs would drive me crazy.

  7. I'd prefer 20 levels, but i'm not surprised you can go beyond now. Kotor had 20 yet it seemed like a lot less, and most people reached the cap long before the end. Also, those levels were not balanced particularly well. some planets are an absolute joke if you already have certain powers, that's before the "scaled enemies" kicks in - like holy warriors on Tatooine.

If the levels scale better i can see 30 being perfectly acceptable. 40 is way too high though. btw, let's not forget you reach about lvl 8 on Taris. I know some people hold off leveling up but that only leaves 12 levels for the other planets. That was very poor progression.

  8. yeah, i mostly play a scout for the exact same reason. The soldier outfit is hideous. I started one game as a soldier and quit 5 minutes later because i hated the look. I've played scouts ever since. Now, i do wish clothes were a viable option but at present there's no point to wearing them, other than for some variety. maybe if there's some 'special' clothes that offer benefits likes robes/armor there'd be a reason to?
