  1. PoE didn't feel dark at all. Wanna play a true dark fantasy RPG? Try Dark Souls... or Bloodborne. Those are truly dark and depressing worlds and definitely none where I wish to live in. The world of PoE felt as it should: reasonable. Maybe the image of corpses hanging on a tree were a little bit too dark or cruel for some, but we shouldn't forget that with Waiden's Legacy desperate times call for desperate measures. In fact I believe that Josh Sawyer, who studied history, was inspired by the famous picture called The Hanging depicting the cruelties done in the 30 Years War in Europe. So hats off to the devs for that amount of detail!
  2. Here are my files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/n4kvtd29lydr4qs/AADq0DN55d98szIEdHS4U4QQa?dl=0 I tried everything I could do on my own, but I know that with such a new OS at least some problems have to occur. Thanks for the help!
  3. Since my update to Windows 10 the physics for Capes and Cloaks won't work anymore, as described in this thread -> https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/77568-cloak-bug-floating-with-no-physics/ I tried all possible fixes, but nothing worked for me. I guess it has something to do with the new DirectX and PhysX Engine for Windows 10. Or are there other solutions to this problem? I'd be really glad if someone can help me as this bug is really immersion breaking Specs: CPU: IntelĀ® Core i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT750M Ram: 8GB
  4. I also don't think that my video card is just too weak. If it is, then I should have more problems than just the particles.
  5. One thing I did encounter quite often in this game is that if I'm on a map/scene with a lot of particle effects (like fog, rain, biawac in the beginning, ...), the framerate drops tremendously. On native resolution (1920x1080) and AA off I run this game around 45-50 fps, but everytime the weather goes to rain for example I can be lucky if my fps stay above 30 fps. The same applies for scenes like the biawac in the beginning and every other "flashy" scene only that it goes down to like 19 fps and thats quite annoying in my opinion. I don't know the exact reason for that, but I guess it has to do with the particles in the game and how they affect my CPU. I'm curious if I'm the only one with this problem and I also wanna ask, if an option to turn down particle effect may solve it?
  6. I think one major thing the devs should add to survival is the probability/amount of ingredients you find in the wilderness. The chance of random encounters also sounds very interesting as it'd be like survival in Wasteland 2.
  7. I didn't mind that some characters don't really connect to the main story. It is the story of the Watcher after all, but what they could have done better is how characters respond to your decisions. As far as I can remember, aside from some objections, the only major consequence of a certain decision is the threat of Grieving Mother leaving the party, if you sacrifice that child in Twin Elms. The companions in PoE act pretty much like all the companions of classic IE games, but I think it wouldn't hurt if Obsidian takes a look at newer Bioware games and how they handle companions. I absolutely LOVED the companions in Dragon Age Inquisition! Everyone of them just felt so interesting like they really had a say to certain things and really do care about the stuff that is going on.
  8. Portrait flipping indeed sounds like a really good and cheap to make solution. Another alternative I imagine could be moving the companion icon beside the modal abilities after selecting the ranger portrait... since the animal companion is a "kinda" sort of modal ability. ^^
  9. I love the portraits in PoE especially the newer ones. But if you play with an animal companion a huge portion of your portrait is cut off, which annoyed me quite a bit. Is it possible to either change the shape or size of the animal companion icon or place it completely elsewhere (like above the portrait as an example) so that everyone including the rangers can appreciate the awesome artwork? 10. During my visit in Lle a Rhemen I opened the map and let it open before I switched to my Chrome browser. When I came back to the game, the map looked like this. When you clse the map and open again everything is normal, but the map will distort again after Tab switch.
  11. I know there were problems with the music in the last build. This bug is different though. Background music won't start for me after going to a certain area, but only when something specific is triggered like a fight, quickload, entering and leaving a building, etc... It's not the game breaking type of bug, but still worth looking into.
  12. I have the same bug since the last build. Everytime I scare those two away they will reappear either after going back or loading the savefile.
  13. I had a similar problem after traveling to another map. I did the sidequest for the dragon egg, but when I was back in Dyrford I couldn't finish it.
