  1. quick thought background creates starting reputation?
  2. The original storm bringer PnP had plus and negatives you could even play the background of a leaper. The character background should let the dialog tree provide different options, so the plus skill has more merit after all.
  3. yes +1 skill option is good, I was attempting to take away culture +1 attribute also.

I'd rather have backgrounds give a skill bonus...seems to be more consistent with the idea of prior occupation/career Yes curryinahurry connecting the past with a matching and meaningful bonus makes backgrounds important and a more flush character. They are using Skill bonus tied to Class and culture for attribute bonus. Instead use backgrounds for 1 skill and 1 attribute perhaps ?
  5. yes I don't think it would be worked on just going over older idea that was dropped. I thought it would be more in line with rpg. Maybe next time (expansion) it could be looked at?
  6. Now that it is going to be longer to get out I'd like to go over some small changes. Change starting equipment to starting gold. Instead of culture use Background to set Attribute bonus. Like slave or laborer +1 Might hunter +1 Dexterity ,Mercenary +1 Constitution, Scholar +1 Intellect, Merchant +1 Perception, Colonist +1 Resolve ..ect Their background is how they developed no mater the race or culture. This would mean in character creation culture and background can come before class then attributes.

  8. Sensuki, your sharing the play testing is a wonderful thing to the ones unable to do beta. I really liked your use of BG battle music. I have seen some of your other work on the forums and believe you to be spot on with your comments. Just saying this forum is lucky to have you.
  9. did you try using the HULk agaist The Beatles/ Is the HLUK really a monk class? Regenerates..bare handed attacks.. no armor.
  10. ok , +1 int wouldn't make sense but the pale elf needs a different stat than wood elf. They are more like the snow elf taller and hardier like humans. Now if you wanted to really go rpg you would use Background to set Attribute bonus. These aren't final lists (in fact, I haven't looked at them in a while and they will probably be adjusted soon), but these are the current attribute modifiers for the different base races: so if this isn't the final maybe one of the elf sub race could get a +1 Intellect as the god like are the only ones for noew?

  14. Your character stats are derived from the primary attributes, this influences Stamina, Health, Accuracy and several types of defensive stats. So what are class attributes default mini.
  15. All wizards have a familiar, which functions as a mobile totem for the wizard and provides defensive bonuses for the wizard and their allies. What types will there be?

  17. Humans get an attribute bonus to Might and Resolve and a passive ability called Fighting Spirit
  18. A morganti dagger in steven brust vladamir novels is illegal and destroys the soul. when pulled from the sheath it causes fear because of this. it would seem to fit in a game with this soul setting.
  19. If the game is using souls as a field of sorcerous energy would it be possible to craft them it say a dagger?

  22. per wiki under player character. The story follows your main character, so your character is always the primary party speaker in conversations and all skill and attribute checks will be done by the main character. However, companions will interject when it makes sense for them to do so(as in the Infinity Engine games)[2][1]
