Very Slow Loads/And Area Transition
I have a very fast ALL SSD linux box that I am using to play pillars and the transition to areas and loads are extremely slow. Will there be some effort to improve the I/O performance (if not for POE than POE 2) ? Has any attempt been made to buffer read/writes to minimize I/O requests ? I started profiling what the program was doing but decided it was pointless since I can't change it. This is far the slowest game when it comes to transitioning to new areas/loading saves that I have played in a very long time (and is a lot slower than D:OS and Wasteland 2). Thaniks.

Please add encumbrance for the Expansion
I'm mixed. I do remember with icewind dale (which was the first of the black isle games I played) I found some nifty magical chain mail and it was too heavy and I had spent a lot of time to pick and choose which items to keep or dump. On the one hand I hated encumberance but it really did make me think about what to keep or not keep and trade off of carrying loot (and suffering in combat) or giving up the loot.

One minor complaint (for developer) on save file names
I have one minor complaint; this is really meant for developers in case they are willing to make a change - not sure of the correct method to submit such - and that is there is no option to 'name' save files. The reason this is a 'complaint' is that I often use save file names as a way to identify why the file was saved - such as 'experimental thief' or 'test jumping into pit' - I guess complaint isn't really the right word - perhaps request for minor feature change ? - Other than that seems great but I haven't gotten to far. Was kind of sad when [oops can't say i guess it would be a spoiler].

Do you want Alpha Protocol 2?
my issue was the game was due to local corruption. I like the idea of the game but hte pc controls have issues; the rpg portion (cut scene and such) are great.

alpha protocol hangs after third mission
Nope it still wont' let me upload a file. That link you provided was not relevant to my case; do you know if this game has a log file somewhere that might have useful information. Kind of wish someone from obsidian would read this thread and would be willing to take a look at the save file.

alpha protocol hangs after third mission
Yes; I tried replaying the mission from the start and had the same results; i even tried skipping hte mission (I had one other) and then playing the mission (it was the only one left) and still had the same results.

alpha protocol hangs after third mission
I'm playing the steam version of alpha protocol. I just destroyed the ap vehical; and then there is a cut scene; in which I'm asked why i did it; after the cut scene i'm asked "you though the death of one terroist would ..." after you killed sh?? or were you after me..." - Then the game hangs and I cannot continue forward (it is as if it is going to give me the mission summary/score) but it stops. WHen I start task manager it is spinning (using cpu). - This is on windows 7 64 bit; The tutorial and first two missions went fine. - Is there any way for me to move forward in the game ?

Does the terrain have bonuses?
Yea I would like to see true terrain influence (not just elevation for range weapons but impact of snow, heat, rain, ... on spells and mobility). If it doesn't make it into this game maybe the next...

Obsidian's ideas for a new Kickstarter (3rd Part RPS interview)
My personal hope is that Obsidian (and xile, larian, ...) make enough money from these kickstart games that they can produce equivalent of aaa work without publishers. - That's not to ssay they should abandon kickstart per sey (they might actually enjoy the immediate feedback and crowd support to gauge interest in an idea and pool of people for alpha/beta testing) but I am hopeful that this route reduces the influence of publishers on 'big' games (or big rpg) as well as typical publisher requirement that games be titled towards consoles (which for me is not relevant since I do not play consoles and am tired of interfaces being handicapped). Having said this i'm not sure if Eternity will be a great game (will learn more when it becomes available) as I have a few (serious?) concerns about some of the chosen mechanics. Still hopefully it will earn enough after kickstart that they have a pool of cash to help with future developemtns (kind of wonder how that works - if they will take funds from kickstart games and use them to help with future 'fan' style games or if ithey will sort of evaporate but I am getting ahead of myself as it remains to be seen what the post kickstart earnings wil entail).
