D&D: Does Obsidian 'ave an interest?
LlamaGod replied to Sargallath Abraxium's topic in Obsidian General
I AM SICK OF FORGOTTEN REALMS AND ALL IT'S "DROW THIS" "ELF THAT" BULLs***. STOP MAKING FORGOTTEN REALMS GAMES ALREADY YOU s***HEADS. dasfkjslkdjflkjsdf Drizzt IS STUPID Elves SUCK And for d20 modern, WHY DONT PEOPLE MAKE THEY OWN SYSTEMS? SARGY, stop typing like a HUGE f***ING MORON. We know you sure do love your Barbarian, i'm very fond of mine too as it was my first character. BUT I DONT ROLEPLAY HIM ON MESSAGEBOARDS BECAUSE, lets say it all at once: IT IS HORRIBLY STUPID Sorry for the ranting, but I HATE FORGOTTEN REALMS AND ALL THE HUGE PILES OF s*** THAT HAVE FALLEN OFF IT'S EVEN BIGGER MOUTAIN OF s***. I also hate people that want more 'base it off this' crap instead of people making their own stuff, while it's fun to have a game that uses the PnP rules, people rarely fully implement them. P.S. Ravenloft sucks and it's got all those silly goths and goths suck too. -
	I agree.

	Your mom, hogs***.
 -
	Haha. You're stupid.

Lionheart was a smash-success of a game, combining all the elements of what a true RPG should be, in creating a sequel of it, Obsidian could reach as great as a success as The Sims. Maybe they can even get EA to publish it! I see bright things in the future for Lionheart 2, and I hope you do too.

Hi...and at the risk of sounding DUH!

About software piracy, I dont see the big problem about it. Most games/companies have a large enough core of dedicated fans to generate a decent amount of sales and they are usually larger than the band of pirates. Blaming poor sales on piracy is like the whole 'musicians are going poor because you're downloading music' sort of crap. -

Suggestion: Make a pure turn-based combat RPG

Seeing how Greyhawk is now the default setting of D&D, i'd be wise to say many many people play it and just dont realize it. And Living Greyhawk f***ing owns faces. Down with Forgotten Realms! ToEE was good because it was the basis of D&D, dungeons, loot and monsters, which is what the intial design of Greyhawk was, too. -

It's a personal preference, but I like to have alot of tacticle options and stuff, makes combat fun and interesting. I played through ToEE about 5 times just for the combat and trying different parties. -

Care to explain that one, oh so wise one? -
Care to remind me how the best D&D game so far is crap?
 -
Last I remember, "Horrible linear RPGs with real-time combat based on a system that didnt have real-time combat" wasnt a niche.

Err, turns are usually a few seconds slowed down to the point were you make a decision in most games. So it would be very natural if you saw it played out. An example is it'll take you say 2 seconds to think 'hit that dude with the axe' and 2 seconds for the enemy to think 'punch him' and you go back in forther doing that, in real life, it'd be a guy with an axe hitting and a guy punching him. So why is real-time more realistic? Might as well say they are even in that aspect, but they arnt because real-time doesnt allow the ability to think beyond a few simple things. So all and all, real-time is just a hamper. -
LEAVE FALLOUT DEAD, JERKS. IT'S DONE, OVER, BYE BYE. IT'S PUSHING UP DAISIES. Fallout 3 would suck anyways.

I like how the only 'RPG' that Real Time worked in was Diablo 2. Then you remember Diablo 2 is an action RPG. IF YOU'RE NOT MAKING AN ACTION RPG, JUST DONT DO REAL TIME. Why cant you people just be simple? PRO-TIP: If your doing a game off an established system that is Turn-Based, STAY TURN BASED (D&D,Fallout, etc.) -
It's called 'small talk'. Go back to playing 'freestyle' piano, jerkhat. Oh, dont forget to try and charge people for the horrible MP3s, either.
 -
Teatime is just angry he's horrible at playing the piano.
