  1. Cool beans. This was a fantastic series, and it's good to see Trial by Fire getting a graphics overhaul. Despite the lack of VGA graphics, it was arguably the best in the series.
  2. What are your impressions? I played in the beta about a year ago and wasn't impressed, but it sound slike it has progressed well. I'm planning on pre-ordering it tomorrow.
  3. Right or wrong isn't really the point. Good sportsmanship is hugely important and this guy lacks it.
  4. The Force Unleashed is simply awesome. It's like Ninja Gaiden with a lightsaber and Vader. It may be the best Star Wars game since Tie Fighter.
  5. I've heard Shadowrun was pretty much garbage. I won't buy it just because it might taint my fond memories of the PnP and SNES games.
  6. http://www.maxpaynethemovie.com/ I saw the preview for this before Tropic Thunder, and I was shocked that it looked semi-decent. It's got Mark Whalberg, who is fairly smart about his movie choices, and it looks to have a bit more depth than the game. It just might work.
  7. You're too young, I'm calling your parents.
  8. Tropic Thunder - It was a lot of fun. It was great to see a few big name actors having a blast in the movie. Downy Jr. was insanely good.
  9. Whatever, after the adventure game they should release a stealth based game set in the Starcraft universe with a Lara Croft-like protagonist.
  10. They should make an adventure game set in the Warcraft universe. It could focus on Thrall's storyline!
  11. ME was stellar. If you enjoyed KotOR and you aren't an insane Star Wars fanboi, I think Mass Effect will be a great adventure.
  12. I really hope that's sarcasm. People who complain about the WoW art style remind me of someone who would argue that Monet should try harder to paint like Van Gogh. Not everything needs to be gritty.
  13. I think it was stated earlier, romance can be manufactured. It just takes a little bit of work. But an emotional connection is a lot trickier.
  14. That really highlights some major differences in the way men and women think. Most men here haven't mentioned romance because it really isn't the important part of the relationship to them. It is a means to an end for most of us. But it is extremely important to women, and so if men want to have a healthy relationship, they need to put in the time it make it romantic.
  15. NHL 09 is coming up quick! Hopefully we'll get some sweet 6 vs. 6 games going on.
  16. I'm kinda into the whole savannah setting for Far Cry 2. I might pick it up just for that.
  17. We lost our second game in the playoffs 5-1, and so we are out. My legs/hips are killing me. I'm feeling pretty old, I do turn 30 next Saturday. I'll hobble into work tomorrow.
  18. So there is also this whole maturity aspect of being in a relationship. My opinion is that it is difficult to grow as an individual when you are in a relationship. You also change tremendously over the years, and it doesn't seem to level out for most people until the mid 20's. This of course varies case by case and depending on the circumstances. I always tell students to go to college more for the fact it gives you an extra few years to develop as a person than any education. Folks who start a career right out of High School (or drop out) often get stuck at that stage in their life. So yeah, for the youngun's on the board, there is really no rush. Just enjoy establishing your own identity and eventually you will probably come across someone who likes you for who you are, and then you'll try to do everything in the world to please them, and there won't be anything wrong with that.
  19. That's really sad, Gorth.
  20. I can agree that if you hated Oblivion, you probably will dislike Bethesda's Fallout. It makes sense, the ES series is their crown jewel and it's been successful for them, so of course they aren't going to totally abandon their design philosophy for a new title. I'm just very hopeful that they will fix the more glaring issues that Oblivion had. Really, it's all about the story for me. If they can create an intriguing plot, then I'll be ecstatic. If they can't, then I'll still probably enjoy running around exploring the game world. So I figure I have a high chance of liking Fallout 3, a small chance of loving it, and a minisule chance of hating it. No problem.
  21. Is that all? I thought more was removed... I heard something about the European version being darker and moodier (lighting wise) - but I don't know if that's true. I think there were some racial slurs taken out too. Like the dwarf and elf type of racism.
  22. Shryke, that's tough to hear. Sometimes my imagination gets away with me when I'm daydreaming and I think about what would happen if something horrible happened to my family. It's terrible, I don't know why I do it, but I think my reaction would be pretty akin to that movie Reign on Me with Adam Sandler. You've got my sympathies. On the less dreary side of things, I absolutely hate couples that can't give each other their own space. Seriously, I have so many friends who have to give up their own personal stuff because of their relationship. That's BS people, get your balls back and man up. My wife and I have our own separate interests and hobbies. We can go to the movies and see separate shows. Sure, it's important to share interests, but I think it's even more important to know how to give personal space and support your spouse in what they enjoy.
  23. That's terrible. I didn't even start drinking until I was close to 21. Dumb bar staff.
  24. It's a local adult league, and I'm playing at the intermediate level. There are 3 levels of advanced (leagues A and B are made up of a lot of guys who play college hockey. Owen Nolan played in the top league for a bit while rehabbing.) Then about 10 levels of intermediate (C&D) which I've bounced around in for awhile now. Then there are 4 beginner leagues as well, wich I'm trying to get my wife to play in. She's taking her first class now. Here's a link, my team is the Fighting Amish in 3D, and I'm number #24. http://stats.liahl.org/display-stats.php?league=1
