  1. Yeah, this was my first encounter with these things, so I had no idea what they were. In my defense, the unsightly UI spam threw me off.
  2. Hello! I have run into probably the same bug, though with some added variables. At first, I noticed this: The properties of Whispers of Yenwood itself were showing as active effects on my main character. These are passive properties of the weapon itself, not abilities it grants for the wielder, so it obviously shouldn't happen. But here's the real kicker: The character is not even carrying the weapon. She used to, but is now wielding Duskfall and Modwyr. Whispers of Yenwood is equipped on Xoti. The bug appeared quite some time after I switched the weapons around, although I did not notice the exact moment. Here's my main character's Current Effects section of her character sheet. It shows her wielded weapon's abilities normally, plus WoY's passive properties, even the generic "superb". This seems to be just a display bug, as in testing I only saw the appropriate properties listed in damage calculations. HOWEVER: The debuff IS affecting the main character's Will defense. Funnily enough it even points the finger at Xoti, and if I unequip the weapon from her, the debuff persists but the mention of [Xoti] disappears. And I want to emphasize that this is OUT OF COMBAT, which is specifically not how the debuff should work. Doing some testing, I found out that: A) Simply entering combat with the main character wielding Whispers of Yenwood gets rid of the display bug immediately. B) Equipping and then un-equipping WoY on the main character fixed both the display bug and the lingering extra -5 will. (It showed as -10 upon re-equipping and disappeared on unequipping). C) Having Whispers of the Dead trigger (getting critted while wielding WoY) does inflict a stacking -5 will per crit, that persists out of combat and through resting. EDIT: On further testing, I noticed that the debuff seems to work correctly when inflicted by enemies in combat; I was testing it by having a partymember attack the wielder. In this case the debuff goes away when the next combat ends. Here is a dropbox link to a .zip file, containing my output_log.txt and a savegame in a simple combat encounter map for testing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/10eeb4w4echrbfo/Whispers%20of%20Yenwood%20bug.zip EDIT: Also, I am running the current beta patch. EDIT 2: made some corrections as I noticed an oversight in my testing. EDIT 3: Man this post got convoluted for what turned out to be a much simpler bug than I first thought. I probably should've slept on it.
  3. For what it's worth, after having played the game a lot more now and having come across more and different types of these sigils, I'm getting the feeling that at least the "permanent until rest" part, and possibly the stacking too, might be working as intended, as the general philosophy with traps and other defense mechanisms seems to be that they're a more serious threat now. Plus you can often also find a sigil wardstone that will remove and protect you from the effect. But even if I'm right, we're still left with the issue of the UI getting cluttered with multiple instances of the effect in question, which should probably be looked at.
  4. Glad to be of help. I will hold on to those save files in case they are needed.
  5. I have encountered the same bug. It is with these small obelisk things in the Old City beneath Neketaka: They continuously fire an AoE debuff around them when approached, which apparently stacks with itself and does not have a duration so does not wear off. At first each instance of the effect on a character was separate, but upon saving and loading (did this to see if it got rid of the bug) they collapsed into a single instance with the effect repeated many times, as pictured here: I have available two save games: -One with the bugged curse on my characters -Another without it, with my party located near the bugged pillars, for convenient testing. Please inform me as to the best method for delivering these. EDIT: Resting in a tavern seems to remove the bugged status effect.
  6. Aww yissss let's keep this metal train rollin'
  7. That is very nice to hear, as I just encountered this as well. I hope the fix will apply retroactively and remove the stuck debuffs, and not just prevent future cases. No hard feelings in any case, at least for me all the good in the game far, far, FAR outweighs the bugs.
  8. Hey, hey guys. You all know The Final Countdown, right? You know, that massive 80s glam hit with the silly synths? Well, of course you do. Now then, how many of you have completely written Europe off as a joke band, a worthless relic of a bygone era, because of that one stupid overplayed-to-death song? Well, if you have, then let me re-educate you: Europe made a comeback in 2004 and have released five albums since. But not to try and rehash their old glory days, ohhh no. They pretty much rebooted their sound. They started off with some pretty modern sounding hard rock (and very good at that), and have gradually heaped on some more bluesy sounds, 1970s influences and general oldtimey groove as they've gone on. This all culminates on their latest release, titled War of Kings. The band has turned the retro dials all up to eleven, the album is just pure 1970s hard rock bliss. And more importantly, it is a staggeringly, astoundingly good album. I'm talking "right up there with Deep Purple and early Rainbow" good. Yes, really. If you like any kind of heavy rock music at all, especially of the oldtimey variety, you owe it to yourself to forget everything you know about 1980s Europe and give this album a spin.
  9. ^ Too bad mate, Bloodlines is awesome. Definitely a diamond in the rough if there ever was one. As for me: I've lately put like 15 hours into Legend of Grimrock 2. A bit of a silly time to start it in hindsight, since as crazy good as it is, I'll be putting it on hold to play PoE come Thursday. Still, it's a really, really, REALLY damn great game.
  10. Just a friendly reminder to all that Skyrim is, in fact, still a ridiculously photogenic game: Like, seriously. WAR PAINT!!
  11. Not coming in an email. You will need to go to the backer portal and head to your products page. Check out the instructions at http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71574-redeeming-keys-and-rewards-how-to/. What, I have to GET it MYSELF? No no no, this just will not do. As a backer, I demand the key be delivered to me carved on a gold plated plaque, carried by a snow white dove accompanied by the clarion call of triumphant silver trumpets. But, we only have plain old white doves. Ugh, fine then. But you better double down on the trumpets to compensate. Realtalk though, I'm glad you guys got this key thing sorted out without any major hiccups. Cheers and kudos to you!

  13. Hey guess what nerds: keys are up on the portal right now. Go hogwild!
  14. No, getting your copy of the game before release date unlike other customers is most certainly extra stuff. You WILL get your copy of the game that you paid for, WHEN it is released, JUST like other customers.
  15. Please show me the announcement where Obsidian promised that KS backers would get to pre-load their games before anyone else. Really, show me where they said that and I will immediately do a 180 and eat every word I said thus far. Until that, it's all exactly what has been said: People complaining just because they didn't get some nebulous, meaningless treat they were never promised to begin with.
