  1. I didn't really think I was calling your team a bunch of losers. I just think we have the better chance in the next few years and by the time you guys get back in contention you would have wasted Peavy's arm. Don't get me wrong, I know what its like to want to keep players, but pitchers are not likely to play their whole careers with one team. I'm sorry I can't remember when the last time you guys won a playoff series was? Was in the Kevin Brown/Ken Caminiti era?

  2. Peavy makes his offseason home in Houston so I should be touting his adopted home and is good friends with Roy Oswalt. Not that making an offseason home in houston is that unusual since Texas is one of the few states that doesn't have a special state income tax on professional sports salaries

  3. the Padres did that while all the time playing in the worse division in the NL if not all of baseball, it wasn't till the D-Backs and Rockies emergence last year that the division showed some strength. The Padres would do well to finish 3rd in their division this year, but might have a better chance of finishing third in their state.

As far as Peavy goes, hes a smallish power pitcher and those guys tend to break down very early in their careers. I really only see him putting up 3 more years of true top of the rotation stuff before his body starts to show wear. He might as well get his chance at a pennant with his hometown team then waste his best years lavishing in a division where three to four teams not only have better teams on the field, but better farm systems in place.

  4. Nick with hentai....

Do you even know what you are talking about? Hentai is pornographic animai or magna, or at least that's my understanding of what it is. :ermm:

My understanding is similar to yours only less effeminate

  5. just saw Ironman, anyone else get the feeling they totally ripped off Transformers during the highway fight?

That scene did make me think of Transformers, but mostly how crappy that movie was compared to Iron Man. I really liked Iron Man, I mean you cut an origin story a little more slack, but all and all it stood pretty well on its own. Jeff Bridges did an interesting job in his role, he seemed to act the part right out of the Nick Nolte hand book which gave his character a suitably vile impression. I really like it when a director can work himself into a film tastefully I think he accomplished that without taking you out of the film. The special effects are typical LucasArts work. I guess I'll try and take advantage of my town's $5.50 matinee and see how well it stands up to a second viewing.

  6. a vidalia onion vinegarette salad dressing is a pretty good base to start your bar-b-que sauce. From there the usual tomato, worcestershire, and brown sugar also unfortunately alot of butter 2-3 sticks for a medium sauce pan, is essential. You then sort of season to taste, another essential could be dried sweet red peppers

    You go in that team

    I go on this team

    Divide everything

    A flag or a number

    Make 'em opposites

    So there's a reason

    Stigmatization

    Ok now we can fight

    Divide everything

    Just put it all flat

    Justification

    Ok now you can fight

    It is correct and reasonable

"Still I, challenge all other times

    forgiven, shy reflections

And hoping, that we fail to disappear

    features to the blue sky

And we don't make this up for lonesome days we talk about

    Sometimes

    The wait belongs to me

So thats ashame, I couldn't be wrong

Because your smile, I found you

We don't mind the time, get lost near me now

    Only because we need

Giving our hearts to sin, its on my mind

Down in a kiss we found"

  9. I'm reading this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Areas-My-Expertise-J...n/dp/0525949089

Its definitely light reading, sometimes its seems to be insanely funny while other times it falls flat. I was reluctant to embrace "PC" on his own merits since those apple commercials sometimes make me laugh and I'm in no way comfortable with that. I heard this podcast the other day where he was relating this story about how suddenly people would recognize him and basically act nuts and ask him insane questions and he would have to grope for replies to things he had no earthly idea why anyone would say. Finally it occurred to him that these people were a little starstruck and that it was them looking for approval and not vice versa. I guess it was the type of story only someone of minor celebrity can really pull off and sound in earnest.

  10. 300$ in tax return... Sounds vaguely familiar.. Did Nixon's head have anything to do with this?

My friend Stephen where going on about this awhile back, I was questioning if 100 cups of coffee would be a good investment until I realized I would be getting $600.

Of course this is a tiny drop in the bucket when compared to my actual tax refund which will be secreted away in my offshore accounts as I have decided to become a good, wealthy american.

  11. Portishead - The Rip ;)
