  1. This is not a choice you want to make, it's supposed to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's gate. Also I dislike the fact that you can kick caracters from your group and make a group by your own it kills all the atmosphere present in baldur's gate, you are not supposed to chose the people you meet in an rpg. You should be able to make only the main caracter. I really hope you change those 2 things or the game won't be very good...
  2. Well Pillars of eternity won't even have any romance, that was already a huge drawback before even the beta release... for that reason I'm not expecting much of this game but who knows maybe it will have some good surprises anyway... Yeah cause we need romance to make a good video game, read a novel you nancy Watch your mouth slug

  4. I'm saying boring mega dungeon because the one in Bladur's gate expansion was boring. Of course you can argue and say that the Eternity megadungeon won't be boring but in my opinion all those monolytic big mega dungeon are cosubstantial to boringness while romance bring up some charm to the game
  5. In an interview (http://gamecrate.newegg.com/josh-sawyer-pillars-of-eternity-interview/) I heard there is no romance, how come obsidian prefered to make a boring mega dungeon (like the very boring mega dongeon in BG2) and no romance ? Very bad choice imo
  6. The interiors furnitures look good even in the screenshots from the previous updates, however please try not to make interiors exagerately big compared to the character size or it may impair realism and immersion. I don't mind narrow interiors where a 6 members group can't deploy to its usual formation as long as the path finding doesn't make characters movement too buggy like in BG2. In fact it may be interesting to design interiors as narrow since some group members will have to stay/fight in the hallway, in the stairs or between doors and such things are good for immersion and tactical fighting. To me both the blacksmith and the Odra's gift look too wide relatively to the entrance/stairs size. If you want to keep it that way maybe you should add some supportive pillars or walls to make it more consistent with an architecture point of view.
  7. I agree with OP, I dislike the idea of guns; I dislike Arcanum because of the technology part I find it to break immersion I'm a bit sad PE went that way but what can you do
  8. That's how I read it. But really, he's not saying anything here. BG2 is freakishly massive. With the exception of maybe the Elder Scrolls, all games are going to be smaller than BG2 Well that's sad because BG2 wilderness and high level of quality is what it makes it a memorable game. I was hoping that with the increase of technologies and use of 2D we could make something bigger nowadays. What would it take, 10millions instead of 4 ?
  9. There is something I don't understand, they say that wilderness and adding more companions is time consuming, but how can it be since it's a 2D game we would expect the map making to be faster and easier to perform than a 3d environment. Also in their pcworld interview they say : "This game is going to be pretty darned big, but Baldur’s Gate II is huge.". Does it mean that Pillars of eternity will be smaller than Baldur's Gate 2 ?
