I'm not sure I could name a favorite TV series episode (or made for TV film) in general. Quality of Mercy was a fantastic piece of storytelling with only two actors and another guy in a really cheap plastic armor. It didn't feel like the showrunners were trying to cut down production costs. Heh. It's surprisingly difficult to get Twilight Zone here. TV stations don't air it, it's on no streaming service and while there are box sets to buy they're not only ridiculously expensive but also riddled with production problems that were never fixed.

Y u no Bruce Campbell? Other than that looks pretty much like a must see.

I think Ira Steven Behr is a huge James Darren fan and at some point just asked him if he'd come on the show, and he agreed. That's the reason he was shoehorned into every other episode. And sometimes I feel like the only one that liked the Ferengi episodes. Profit and Lace in particular got a lot of hate but I just laughed at the antics. It really helps being a fanboy sometimes, also Ezri didn't bother me one bit. I doubt I'll ever get tired of watching Bree Tristan* in anything. If anyone had to replace Joey Summerskill it's nice that it was her. *Best bottle episode on TV in the history of ever. Fly of Breaking Bad comes close (and is obviously far superior in production values), but nothing really beats that look on the T-1000's face after realizing what he's done. Heh.

I recently found my copy of Der Struwwelpeter. The title story is about a boy refusing to groom himself (or be groomed by his parents): The hilarious part was the caption on the front page, translation shamelessly copied from Wikipedia. Lustige Geschichten und drollige Bilder mit 15 schön kolorierten Tafeln für Kinder von 3–6 Jahren ("funny stories and whimsical pictures with 15 beautifully coloured panels for children aged 3–6"). The book is full of stories where children have their thumbs cut off, burn themselves to a cinder or starve to death. Fun and whimsy, what else? Insert appropriate millennial joke here.

Finished Love, Death + Robots. Was pretty good overall, some episodes are simply epic (Three Robots is amazing). Sonnie's Edge is still not good, except for the animation of course. Beyond the Aquila Rift reminded me a bit of the Outer Limits revival show episode Tempests.

Well, that's another 13 bucks for GOG.

So, any word on whether we can make our vampires sparkle? Not buying if it doesn't live up to the new reality of vampirism.

Apparently there's (maybe?) 4 different episode orders, based on no one knows what, . So not everyone is getting the same first episode. https://www.indiewire.com/2019/03/love-death-and-robots-netflix-episode-order-changing-1202052377/ Well looks like I need to clarify then, I was talking about the episode Sonnie's Edge which was the first for me, and apparenly is the first episode of the default order (at least as far as external info sites are concerned).

That's not nebulous at all.

Well, that was one terrible episode. The tension at the end left me at the edge of my seat. From almost falling off after dozing off. Good job making Michael a wangsty teenager for half the episode by the way. Sheesh.

Hah. See Chris Avellone turned into the ultimate minimalist writing all dialogue for Link.

Time for me to step up the cheese level: edit: /thread.

Speaking of some boom boom...

I wonder how many people that first episode of Love, Death + Robots stopped from continuing. It's like an edgelord explosion of edginess for the sake of being edgy. Look at us, we're animated entertainment for adults. We have violence, swearing, boobies, lesbians and (off-screen) gang rape. All handled with tasteful, uhm, immaturity. But yeah, some episodes are fun and they're so short the bad ones don't really matter. It's just sad that the frist episode is that... eh. Well, edgy.

Owning things even less. I'm still not convinced that they really solved the input lag issue. Sure when you have a connection that can give you a theoretical 20 to 30ms round trip from the button press to the video reaction on screen you're not going to feel much difference in most games - except for high precision platforming and really fast shooters. But people connected through ASDL or LTE? Eh. Sure you have the bandwidth to stream the video, but the latency on these services is more often than not dreadful. And of course there's the huge issue of ownership/licensing/etc. Proponents of game streaming usually come up with Netflix as a defense here but that's much different. Outside of a few films you really enjoy who's watching and rewatching films all the time? Matrix and In Bruges was gone from our local Netflix library due to licensing issues for a wile. Now they're back. I missed both films a total of zero times. Not having a game to replay when I feel like it? Much, much different.

Ah, 90ies Europop/Eurodance.

I'm pretty sure this what what Arnold meant when he said drugs are bad for you.

Well, here's one for Lexx then: No gun though.

Hum, so Star Trek: Discovery really is in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

Razor 1911 and FAiRLIGHT were from the 80ies, DEViANCE started in the late 90ies and later split into a bunch of groups like ViTALiTY (man, that was some internet drama), RELOADED and who the hells knows what else. Following the end of DEViANCE every new group on the scene was accused or thought to be former DEViANCE.
-
You sharpen your Razor 1911 times, with no Deviance. Once you see things in a Fairlight, everything can be Reloaded. I just realized that, aside from DEViANCE which stopped being active back in the mid 2000s, I have no idea if those groups are still around.

I will always remember the day when my mother picked up some Stargate Slash-Fiction to read without understanding exactly what that meant she'd actually be reading. That reminds me of the time we had a fanfiction contest on Ashford City (one of the more popular Interplay spinoff boards). Fun times. A good deal of slash fiction. And some poking fun on people who thought Goldenbell was a real girl (like Yrkoon, heh). Seems so far away now. I'm not even sure if people who posted at AC are left on this forum.

Axel Voss sez mayb YT shouldn't be. Just in case you're wondering who to vote for in the upcoming European Parliament election. As if that wasn't clear enough anyway. edit: Well who am I kidding. Assuming the EPP will lose votes they'll just all go to the ENF, a faction equally as imbecilic when it comes to technology - and if you look at people like Harald Vilimsky proof that the human race is devolving. Dude's essentially a Nazi in anything but the name and looks like he's on the verge of being part of the Planet of the Apes. And not as human slave. Talk about irony.
