can't forget montrose - bad motorscooter ....... one of the best opening riffs on guitar. not sure if that's a fuzz with slide or what he uses, but i love that riff

then you must include Joe Satriani - something from surfing/alien a little SRV , Eric Johnson - cliffs of dover, something by Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, BB King, Zakk Wylde, a little Eddie VH- Eruption comes to mind, better make it a double album ....
