Vertical lines crash/freeze
Sakkura replied to Sakkura's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
GPU temperatures are not an issue: CPU temperatures are in the 40s. DxDiag attached. DxDiag.txt -

I'm already running MSI Afterburner, the card doesn't even reach 70C in any game I've tried. -

Still does crash sometimes, just a little less often. -

The -force-d3d11 parameter seems to reduce or eliminate the crashing. Thanks for the tip. The in-game map has some glitchy graphics, but I can live with that. -

More crashing. Changed to the Catalyst 15.4 beta driver, no discernible difference. -

Bump. Still getting these crashes from time to time. -
How much cores is Pillars able to use?!
Sakkura replied to jaydee.2k's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
You've misunderstood how hyperthreading works. It's not like there are 4 real cores and 4 simulated cores. There are 4 cores, and each core can run 2 threads. It doesn't matter if one or the other thread is using the core. Looks like Pillars of Eternity can't really utilize the upside of hyperthreading, which is letting two threads both perform work simultaneously, as well as letting the cores switch between threads when one thread is waiting for data. But being able to effectively spread the workload to 4 cores is already pretty good. -
Vertical lines crash/freeze
Sakkura posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Intermittently during gameplay, I'm getting a crash or freeze where the screen goes a solid color with vertical lines. Audio keeps playing, either normal music continuing, or a loop. No response to Alt-Tab, Alt-F4, Ctrl-Alt-Del or anything short of the reset or power button. Not getting any crashes or artifacting in any other games or stress tests like Prime95, IBT, Furmark, 3DMark, Unigine Heaven, I have to assume this is not a hardware issue. Temperatures are also not an issue. Hardware specs: Core i5-3450 Asrock Z75 Pro3 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 CL9 MSI Radeon R9 270 Corsair GS600 Running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and with Pillars installed on a 256GB Crucial MX100 (less than half full). Latest release GPU driver, AMD Catalyst 14.12. I've attached an output log from the latest crash. output_log.txt -
Druid bugs
Sakkura replied to Ferrante's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I've seen it happen when charming 2 out of a pack of 3 spiders. One of the charmed spiders didn't even have time to walk over to the one that was still hostile. -

Yeah the charm beast spell seems to be WAY too brief. -
How to deal with traps?

And then you would double back and disarm them for experience. I mean, hypothetically speaking. -

They also disappear if you try to put them in the stash. -
