  1. I came here to partake of Hell Kitty's love.
  2. Personally I thought the KOTOR NPCs were excellent for the most part, and wouldn't mind seeing them again. Of course, the voice acting in KOTOR was the best I've heard in any previous RPG with the exception of Sarevok, and that can really help NPC coolness too. Although IIRC his (Sarevok's) voice was also in KOTOR? Anyway keeping with the same quality of voice acting would make me very happy.
  3. It'll be interesting to see how these ex BISers use 3D.
  4. My username was just the first thing that came to my mind registering at IPLY, and I've kept it across a couple of fora so I don't confuse myself mostly. My avatar is Michael Collins, the Republican hero.
  5. This is a business like any other and they do need to make money or they won't be able to make any games. As has been said so many times before now, KoTOR2 would be a good plan to get money, and then hopefully they can get creative. Or maybe just as likely make KoTOR3, but only time will tell.
  6. The voice should also change slightly as you go from light to dark and dark to light. The generic one didn't fit a darklord very well at all.
  7. Fair enough, but the people who request to be moderators might have questionable reasons for wanting it. Maybe it's just me, but I would hate to moderate a forum. Not exactly an enjoyable dispensation of my time. Therefore the only person that I can picture who'd request to be a mod is the sort that only does it for a weird sense of poweror geekish fame. Obviously there are exceptions. However I'd still rather see someone who was asked. If they're asked then we know the admins think them capable (read: not weak willed) and they also aren't doing it for thrills.
  8. I know, but did you expect anything else of the bat? This place will settle down. No biggie. no, we expected that obsidian would let things pretty much go to hell over the weekend... sorta a test run to see how board software holds up and to see what the vandals try w/o no interference. as to this place settling down... why would you expect that? point us to a game board w/o no real moderation that is settled. and this board? HA! people with old grudges who generally not post in same places has now been thrown back together 'gain. there is the bis fans and the bio fans and there is the fallout3 folks and the bg3 folks and there is folks who hate star wars, and there is lucas fans, and it appears that they is all gonna be posting here for some time... so, what makes you think things will settle down? they is gonna get worse 'fore they get better. as to who should be a mod... fan mods are generally a waste of space. we has seen some small number who did a good job, but for the most part
  9. Any posts will of course have to assume many things since we know so little, but it's about time for at least one hopefully constructive thread. I.E. not full of speculations but rather some prefaced assumptions and then hopefully good constructive suggestions and wishes. First, I'll assume it's an RPG with a KoTOR style interface. D20 ruleset. Might as well also use KOTOR as a base for comparison. Character Development: This could be improved greatly from the first KoTOR. A few more "classes" or subsets with much more distinction between each one. Combat: This is an area which really needs improvement over KoTOR. More feats that need activation and more magic/force power would make it more interactive rather than loading up a set of tasks and watching the cinematic as Sammael put it. Animation was good in KOTOR though, no complaints there. Also maybe tone down the greatness of the lightsaber and give many more options for ranged weapons, and all types for that matter. This could also come under character development as in KOTOR it was often necessary to use a lightsaber. Subquests and their activation: Several more would be much appreciated, and some more which perhaps need certain requirements to be activated. That's really all I have to say on that. Alignment: It was done alright in KOTOR, especially considering the very black and white SW universe. some more in betweeny choices, particularily in dialogue, would be much appreciated. Note: These suggestions hold no matter what game is in the making, KOTOR is only being used as a base of comparison.
  10. I think most importantly is people potentially interested in the products who aren't geeks like us and don't know about BIS etc. They may be turned off if they come to forums for info and find a thread like the one linked above. There won't be many of those such people yet, but as soon as a new project is announced, there will be. Especially if it is KoTOR2.
  11. Is Obsidian made completely of previously BIS people or are there some new ones as well? Regardless, it isn't all of the old BIS, so until we've seen a game from them or at least some of their ideas and setting for the new game, it's ridiculous to form an opinion.
  12. How could anyone possibly even venture a guess?
  13. Me too, especially since I've got too much time on my hands what with the recent crop of ****e for computer games.
  14. Well, there you go, I remember someone impersonated you at IPLY because you'd been particularily repetitive for the week previous to it, and you were something less than flattered.
  15. Oh, and by the way I thought KoTOR was very fun if a little short and unreplayable. I was a little skeptical when I saw the screenshots as I'm not too keen on that sort of view and interface for RPGs, but it was very well done. If you lot are making a sequel or just a game in a similar vein with a similar name, then that's enough for me to look forward too.
  16. I don't think that's the real visceris. Probably someone trying to mock him again, I've never seen him THAT annoying before.

    Hello.
  18. Are we certain yet it's KoTOR2?
