  1. Ah personally I don't like technology + magic :/ Each of them seperately yes. I even hate the guns in PoE. Arcanum was a great game though.
  2. It is anything but linear by itself. But it IS definitely more linear than FO3's map. Calling it a myth is denying facts. The cyclical path of FNV is filled with invisible walls both inwards and outwards.

  4. I think my character was "rolled back" somehow. Please update the topic title. Happened somewhere around raedric's keep or gilded vale - not sure :/ 1)My helm,ring,amulet and boots disappeared from the character slots and appeared as buffs on the character icon. 2)ll my 3rd and 4th level spells disappeared completely. Watcher fear ability gone. 3)Quests/level remained the same. and unfortunately I didn't realize it until all my saves were overwritten (perception in rl 3). Verified files, didn't help.   5. Seems like we won't be getting a proper fallout anytime soon :'( I will admit though that my wet dream is an open world WOD rpg lol - but an rpg similar to bloodlines would be totally awesome as well. So much replayability that game...
  6. True, meant the reflex saves etc - if I remember correctly it was possible to dodge some spells completely except dodging only half of their damage. But either way, they miss a LOT in PoE don't they?

Isn't the Pathfinder their next game ? Hmm I would think that it would be more of a side-project?
  8. Spell misses: In general I find myself enjoying the DnD ruleset more than the PoE ruleset. One thing that annoys the hell out of me in PoE for example, is spell misses. My wizard with 16 perception and eldritch aim can even miss a 4/4 of his spells versus average monsters to my level. In DnD as far as I remember spell misses were far more rare. A reflex save to avoid half the damage of a fireball would be rare for example. Spells did not miss as often as attacks, which seems like the logical thing since spells are limited and need a rest to be replenished. Too much RNG involved perhaps, when it comes to spell hitting. Found myself reloading a lot of times in a battle because of spell misses which were defining for the result of the battle. And all these misses with decent stats (perception etc). I normally enjoy great difficulty, tactics and error punishment, but I feel that this kind of difficulty is not the right kind. Monster CC: Ghasts in BG for example, even with weak saves, couldn't stunlock your characters like monsters can in this game. I may be wrong but from my experience until now there are too many monsters in a lot of encounters that can mass-perma CC the hell out of you. I like having to deal with monsters that may CC your party, needing special tactics to overcome but I think a little tuning-down of CCs is in order. Comparing with the DnD ruleset again, in a few words, an army of Illithids seems more fair of an enemy than a couple of phantoms. I must say that this is only my experience/feedback from the game so far - haven't completed it yet.

  10. Obsidian *absolutely* has to make a Fallout 4 1/2, a Bloodlines/WOD game, a NWN sequel, a KOTOR sequel and oh well, maybe a DS sequel (never a huge fan). Obviously they don't own all of these IPs, but it would be interesting to see which are the most wanted.

  12. I think the reason would be to expand the IP by not just having it be FPSRPGS (First Person Semi-Role Playing Game Shooters ) but exploring different content and genres. The Fallout setting - we know already - supports the FPS type game. It can support a tactical battle type game. It could probably handle a base-management style game (I guess Shelter is kind of a mobile version of that). The only reason you might want to do it is (a) monetary or (b) feeling it'd dilute what you want the brand to be. That's what FO4 is imo unfortunately - a First Person Semi-Role Playing Game Shooter Gallery as you very well described. If they wanted to though, it could have been a full role playing game and the FPS part with the VATS would serve as a "real-time+turn based" tactics medium. In a parallel universe perhaps. Not see it happening with Bethesda. A full base management game might be very interesting. But personally, FO4 has left me craving for a fallout rpg :/
  13. Bethesda's adaptation of Fallout to first person was amazing. There is no reason to return to isometric games - only if isometric equals more content and depth. ONLY then I will support an isometric fallout. And I did prefer FO3 for its less linear map than FNV. That said, FNV may have had a little more linear map but as an RPG it was genius and way more deep and less linear than FO3. FO4 is an aberration IMO, was waiting a new fallout for 7 years and I was very disappointed with it. Feels more like an open world COD than a fallout. I would kill for another Obsidian fallout!!!!!.

  16. You need to build a solo character differently than a party character. In particular you can't afford to dump your defences. It's not impossible and wizards aren't weak. There are plenty of people here who have soloed successfully with a wiz at all difficulties. I have completed the temple. And in the second link he is playing on normal. And both are before nerfs.... I doubt a wizard can do it atm.
  17. Hm interesting, want to see how they managed to kill the phantom groups at caed nua. I killed the phantoms in the courtyard but I used a very cheesy kiting method which I am not happy about. Sword and shield hmm...I will try to find a wizard that has passed that spot. Maybe confusion is the key to beating these things. PS: The spell miss rate though is horrendous. Approximately 1/5 spells hit my targets with 16 perception... and not much better rate with eldritch aim on. Never had problems with difficulty, it's ok if I don't play as I should, die and reload but I am tired of reloading because of spell misses tbh, I'll just roll another class, this one just feels broken. Edit: Rolled a barbarian - feels way easier.
  18. True, but it would still be nice if it was balanced a little more for some solo play without affecting group play, perhaps with a solo talent. Other crpgs weren't balanced for solo either but even if they were hard to solo they weren't downright impossible. At least with a wizard, from what I can see here on the forums it isn't a very powerful class and not very suitable for soloing. PS:Killing backers reduces my reputation
  19. I am a level 4 wizard, don't have any :/ Buy an item for it. It costs a bundle, but if you scrimp/save/murder backer NPC's for their fancy gear you ought to be able to scrape it together. Aha! Yes I saw that 5k figurine at the shop but I am a little short on cash. So they have expensive stuff on them? Thanks for the tip! PS: Something should be done about these creatures though, they are definitely broken, it's not a matter of difficulty anymore. 8 second duration stun being refreshed even before it ends without diminishing returns and being able to keep you perma stunned even while blinded is perhaps a bit too much for a critter. I have played almost every crpg out there and this is the most irrational mechanic I have seen.
  20. The difficulty feels good in general - except the monsters that perma-stun you. If I reduce the difficulty everything else would feel too easy. For example a group of 5 shadows is just at the right difficulty and the fight will be enjoyable. But a skirmisher or a phantom alone would kill me without me being able to do anything. I've sneaked through the levels in raedric's hold, killed the zombies and whatever else I could etc. Can I go to new areas without doing Caed Nua? I searched for walkthrough guides to see if I am missing something but I only seem to be able to find class guides or Paths guides.   21. I have cleared the surrounding forests. I only can go to Caed Nua/Anslog's or Raedric's hold from what I can see - I am level 4 with 2.5k for the next level. But Caed nua has phantoms which do the exact same thing as skirmishers. 1 hit = death, since they perma-stun you. I use Eldritch aim so that the blind hits them all... arcane veil etc... Even when blinded though they still manage to hit me and it's game over. Even if they didn't manage to hit me there is no way I have the firepower to kill them all in the short time they are blinded (int=18). I almost never give up but these status effects look ridiculous to me. Has anyone played potd solo wizard? The difficulty is just right in all other encounters but I can't see any way to overcome these 1 hit kill creatures. Am I missing something here?
  22. I am a level 4 wizard, don't have any :/ Is it possible to go through the first areas with a wizard? By luring trolls to the bandit camp, luring spiders into the almighty stags, somehow I managed to get to level 4. I have had a good time until now, it was hard yes and I reloaded a LOT, but these skirmishers just feel broken... Also I have 16 perception and it seems like only 4/10 spells hit. Any tips on that? Edit: Ah just met the phantoms. Same thing it seems.
