  1. I think that Newt crying yet another refrain of "they will not replace us" dog whistles misses the fact that "traditional, classic Americans" seem pretty determined to kill themselves in the name of abusing the waitstaff at Buffalo Wild Wings.
  2. 1 episode left? I can see walking away because you don't like a show after a one or a few episodes but leaving just one episode left is worse than forcing yourself through something you hate. If I have learned one thing from thirteen years of working, it is that you should absolutely never do more than you are paid to do. You will not get paid more, you will not get promoted, you will not see any god damn benefit but your boss or manager will expect you to spend your own time doing more or doing something harder. **** that, if I'm not being paid I simply do not care.
  3. Best game in a realm where time has no meaning and reality shifts constantly under the whims of eldritch horrors that can't be truly conceived of by mortal minds.
  4. Aktually, Wizards in 5e cast like PF1 Arcanists, who can pretty much btfo other casters in PF PnP cuz they can change their prepared spells on the fly and chow down on potions or wands to cast spells at lvl 20. Based on the beta, that won't be in PotR. It won't.
  5. I think the big difference between the DOS system and D&D is how much the later swings based off d20 rolls. While the party getting wiped because your super competent trapspringer rolled a 1 and blew everyone up is pretty faithful to pnp as written (in practice gm fiat can prevent more unpleasant effects) it probably will piss off most gamers playing by themselves. With the loaded dice option I think we'll see lot less of that, and in general I think Baldur's Gate Original Sin will appeal to present 5e players and DOS fans, which are the groups I assume those coastal wizards were trying to get to buy the game.
  6. What? Worf joining a terrorist group because he hates fun is absolutely hilarious. It's too late, there will be seasons of nuTrek till the end of time, which Alex Kurtzman turning himself into a cyborg just so he can be in charge Trek forever.
  7. Well that sucks. What doesn't suck is a musical anime by Shinichiro Watanabe (the director of Cowboy Bebop) called Carole & Tuesday. I watched it a while ago but don't think I've mentioned it here, I'll give it a recommendation if you're into watching anime featuring (young) women going through emotional trauma along with robots and washed up musicians turned managers.
  8. The cinema experience would involve getting overcharged for some water and listening to half an hour of commercials so not really. @Bartimaeus @majestic I'm on my phone right now and there's too much to quote without the forum software having a snack, so I'll try to be brief here. It's a personal thing and influenced by US education where everything lower than 70 is considered a failure, but it's just difficult for me to rate stuff numerically even to myself. Like I really enjoyed both Sailor Moon (except for Super S and the end episodes) and JoJo (note to majestic, it gets a whole lot crazier in Egypt. D'arby, not Barbie Mr. Jousturrr) but I can't quantify them numerically or anything. I can say I loved them and tell you why, as well as recommended then on those lines, but for the life of me I can't break out a calculator and explain why I rate JoJo 1999/2000 or Sailor Moon Pharoah 90/100. I just don't think of stuff like this in terms of numbers, and I don't think I'll ever really be able to. And I've never seen TAS, but it has a catgirl so if this thread would be the place to talk about it.
  9. I have a hard times rating stuff on a numerical scale. Like, what does 8/10 actually mean when put on a subjective scale? That you loved 80% of it and hated 20%? I prefer to just say whether I like it or not and talk about why, because I figure that's more helpful for recommending something to others than tossing numbers at them to see if they'll get it. Admittedly I'm a weird guy and don't think of anything as favorite. Anyways, I've been watching TOS lately and haven't watched anime in a few days. I think I'll end up watching the Violet Evergarden special next but wait until the movie isn't the bootleg edition with soda slurping to see that.
  10. Seems like an excessive response to a xbox controller.
  11. There's always the ignore feature! But I'd rather talk about how trans panic, in addition to CRT and vaccine conspiracy, has just taken over the minds of some dip****s instead of one guy we all know is a series of words that would mostly get auto censored by the forum software. Dr. Adams on Tantalus, his mind empty.
  12. If I'm remembering it right, Sharp_One had another guy post a goodbye thread because he got mod locked and his posts stopped being approved after a while. Not sure why he was mod locked, I remember seeing him post a meme from a neo-nazi polish site (lmao) before his posts started showing up hours after they were made so that could have something to do with it. Regardless of whether Sharp_One has left or is still here in a fake mustache, I think it's funny that the right-wing media sphere suddenly cares about prison conditions when trans people are involved. I guess trans panic is taking up all the space in their heads these days.
  13. I was going to say Devilman Saga, but that got updated like 3 weeks ago after not being updated since August 2018. Huh.
  14. Online. Physical media is way behind and I tend to get impatient. I wasn't really scared of Vampire Hunter D, I was used to horror movies at that point and I don't think it ever went too out of bonds compared to that. Berserk on the other hand.....the Eclipse is still probably one of the most disturbing events I've seen in fiction. The children's entertainment in my childhood was not good except for memes, like A Cruel Arthur's Thesis. Now a days kids can see stuff like Steven Universe but have to take that with Uncle Grandpa.
  15. I'm trying to read more manga, but sometimes you get really into one and the translations just stop so yeah. At least it's consistent with anime just stopping when they outpace the manga lmao. To be fair, I rented a ton of horror movies and anime from Blockbuster and remeber maybe 10% of them (I believe I may have mentioned one to you that I've been looking for, something about goblins and nuns and an anti-christ pope). The ones that left the biggest impression on me were Vampire Hunter D and Berserk, the latter of which I got out of order and kinda stumbled in on the Eclipse which was absolutely terrifying to 13 year old me. When I was real young and didn't have cable, I would watch DBZ early in the morning and Digimon on Saturdays. I didn't think of them as anime until I was around 12 or 13, come to think of it I didn't really think about movies and TV in terms of genre back then. Weird.
