  1. On a mission to prove there can be only one -heim, the cultists of the Purple Toe go hunting for wyrdstone but find themselves surrounded by vampires and their minions: They try to grab strategic positions and pick their engagements against sometimes stupidly lucky opponents: It is a very close fight, but they survive, though one brother will suffer from lingering internal injuries and Thrice-Amnesiac Lopt the berserker reached a point where his goldfish like memory has him completely confused: They straight away headed back out to gather more loot. Again they were attacked (this time by a rival cult) but had time to regroup, grab a lot of loot and stash it in their wagon, then form a tight defense around it.
  2. I have played two of those games. Were I to try my hand at a White Wolf VN, Changeling is the only setting I find interesting, but also it is the most intimidating setting to write for. But one should write about what one knows, so I am plotting a story about teddy bears. Obviously. It does mean though there may be a lack of overlap with a part of their target audience. (I got rejected as a writer by Black Library. Most likely they didn't like my pitch. but to be honest, I don't think they'd let me near a warhammer IP. My profile does not comply with their standards for acceptable behaviour).
  3. I want to write my own cyoa/adventure/vn. I just don't know why people would find it fun. Also what to learn to use... TWINE Sugar cube? Renpy?
  4. No, I hadn't reinstalled it since the last /format Which admittedly was a while ago. But with lockdowns time passes oddly. You come home from the supermarket a nice November afternoon, and by the time you have all the groceries stored in the pantry, it is March.
  5. Until I get new Mordheim screenshots: Fired up a random map of Majesty. It started me with a temple of Krolm and a ranger's guild. 5 minutes into the map, a Vampire attacked my town, followed by half a dozen Greater Gorgons and a horde of goblins (including goblin spell casters). Took out the vampire and most Gorgons before getting wiped out in under 7 minutes... Here is what Irene had to say about the experience:
  6. And to show I do not preach to others things I do not do myself, I sent PMs to both Shady and Oner!
  7. If you really wanted to show appreciation, you'd take one of those games' off people's hands
  8. Nothing. I don't even get review copies for the posts I make here. I guess the Obsidian forum is not seen as a channel with enough reach
  9. But they somehow managed to get you to keep watching.
  10. I checked the wiki. Ray gives a Strict Refusal, correct. Apparently Anne gives Waiting regardless of your choice and win/loss.
  11. Yeah, it is a rough battle for Adventurer Dorori. People Unequip Anne's masteries to succeed that one I did Irene as well, but story-wise Heixing and Albus are more important. Heixing because it shows his relationship with Kylie. Albus because it introduces a new character. Mastery-wise only Irene matters afaik she is the only one who gets a unique mastery from the encounter. I hadn't expected Ray's scent of the past to be such a long story chunk. Especially not after Heixing's was such a short easy mission. I have recruited Adventurer Dorori. He has a unique personal mastery "I love Anne".
  12. The Cybertronic Spree did a Heart - Barracuda cover. Arcee really has the vocal modulator for this.
  13. I don't think I have ever seen a release get so many promo videos.
  14. The first one was okay as an intro to the setting. Similar to how the XCOM2 or Deus Ex novels were okay. The second one was less than okay. There are two problems with the first novel: a) it tries to name drop too much stuff. "Ooh! The characters talked to some dalish elves." It doesn't lead to anything, but the word got checked off the list. David Gaider must have been under a lot of pressure on that one to get everything marketing wanted him to into whatever word limit he had. b) Shale appears in the novel and Loghain knows the golem, but as they made it day 1 DLC, in the game there is no dialogue to acknowledge this. It highlights a possible issue in project management at Bioware. Writers' work is just cut and thrown into the end product without too much care for the continuity the writers may very well have envisioned.
  15. The only thing anyone *must* do is gather their party before venturing forth.
  16. Ironically without actual gameplay. With more gameplay info, a trailer without gameplay in the title:
  17. Yeah, I played quite a bit of Hunter. Made a character for Demon but that is as far as I got with that. Never got into Werewolf. I think it is the setting that most suffered from players and storytellers who didn't understand the point of WOD (obviously, whatever makes you have fun) and simply got turned into a lulz I can beat up anything.
  18. I have played various WoD settings and games. I have a Brujha deck for the card game somewhere around here as well. More of a Changeling fan though than Vampire.
  19. Had a fairly good Beast Taming run (in Troubleshooter) last night instead of sleeping. Didn't get the gold beasts I was aiming for, but a good number of epic and legendary bosses.
  20. I think I'd end up foiling my own plot, being too annoyed at heroic incompetence.
