  1. I was very pleased with update #7, I do not share your concerns and I liked what was proposed I have to admit.
  2. The issue I have with mounts is you have to remember that you have a party so you would either need mounts for them all or a single mount in the form of a large beast of some sort that can carry you all. In respect to combat it also defeats the point of having a party if single large mount (think along the lines of formation mechanics). Overall regarding mounts I have to say I am not in favor. What I will say is that I am in favor of forms of transport in the game but only from town to town as fast travel. Think trains, airships and such but personal mounts no thanks.
  3. There is room for beast to drop things other than their body parts like teeth etc. But depends on the scale of the beast itself. For example I imagine a Krakken or a Dragon would of ate it's fair share of people in it's time so might have some bling in it's belly but small beasts that really would never digest armour or weapons don't make sense for them to drop such.
  4. On a more serious note I think like many others here there should be corrolation between the animal, creature or enemy you kill and what they are carrying that gets dropped. When I step on an beetle I don't expect it to poop out a broadsword.
  5. I want it to be a castle or maybe a small shack that over time becomes a castle the more you put into it whether funding additional construction or such elements, I want to leave some companions there to defend it while I am away doing other things. I would love it if could add on to it, maybe customise it. Use it for picking up quests, talking to companions and storage of course. Thats my ideal situation but I have no idea what Obsidian will do in the end. Whatever it may be though I doubt very much that I would be disappointed. Oh and would be nice if did produce income by means of hiring staff or even tax from residents of your lands.
  6. Seem good to me. I will put my money where my mouth is. I will up my pledge for you to sketch of me in long trench coat holding a scythe, standing on like top of a hill at night. Do you remember stargate ring? Well behind me the Obsidian Project Eternity ring instead of stargate one. The moon behind that in night sky. I mocked up a 30 second doodle of sort of thing I mean. Picture itself does not have to be big. As I do not know how it will turn out I think might be fair to decide how much increase pledge once done, For example if all that returns is matchstick figures I will up my pledge by $1, if half decent maybe around the $25 mark and if amazing then would be even higher. Edit: Oh and don't forget to sign it and make it out to Dragoonlordz - Exorcist of the Obsidian Order, if you choose to do it.
  7. Woooow! A real cartographer you say? What do you charge and what would you for the merit of PE? (Not that I do need a map in particular, but I have always been fascinated by the art) I wouldn't call it art per se. It's just drawing using vector graphics combined with typesetting. Here is low resolution sample of work I did for someone while back. I have to keep it low resolution because they paid for it so I have no intention of putting anywhere online for free what they paid for to be made for them. But you can see sort of work enviroment I use, though also do the pre-press PDF's using Quark and indexing all myself too. I wouldn't make maps for fans because I am currently working on a project for someone so don't have the time. What I will do is increase my pledge if there are any high quality artists here with time on their hands, them to draw something for me but I would like to see style of art they done in the past.
  8. I would do it myself but I am a cartographer not artist. So if any fan artists on here willing to do artwork for other fans here in order for them to increase their pledges and willing to link previous work they done so people at least have an idea what to expect then this idea could work.
  9. First step in this idea is getting a list of people willing to do the drawing for the purpose of helping out Obsidian via pledge increases to pay for that work. So if we can get people to sign up to do the work then provide a link next to their offer of doing it showing style of art they have done in past. From that point on myself and many others will commision via pledge increases to have something drawn based on description of what want.
  10. I think would be pretty much required for those willing to do the work to show or link something they have done before though. I would hate to think someone pledge increasing by say $10-$50 for fan artwork based on what they describe only to result in matchstick figures been drawn.
  11. What could also be beneficial is people linking their own artwork for example their deviant art pages so those who commision avatars, banners and more from other fans here for the increase in their pledge will know the style of art the person they are asking to do it. I am thinking we can have a selection of fan artists on here offering their services for pledge increases of those asking for art done for them, a set price or offer based system (for increased pledges) depending on what they want done.
  12. The question becomes should we have tiers of level or size of artwork relating to pledge increase? Avatars $5, banners $8 and $10 or $15 for bigger size?
  13. I will help you out with another idea though, fan created artwork for those who pledge x amount would probably be easier then say tours of Istanbul. Though you may have to drop the proving pledge increase idea because like I pointed out it has flaws in it which is why the Order itself relies on honor system, trust in that people are keeping their word. I am sure we have great (fan) artists on here who would be happy to design something for people who pledge say $5-$10 increase. For example on Bioware forums we had a thread where people would suggest ideas and the fan artists on site would draw their ideas for them, you could do same here for people who pledge an increase of x amount.
  14. Sorry I might be just tired but I am confused what exactly you are proposing... I get the idea of screenshot of before and after but that doesn't stop people popping it back down after taking a screenshot. I am not saying people would do that I am just pointing out there is a loop-hole or flaw in the concept.
  15. I think it will become increasingly hard for people to know what is taken and what is not plus if the interest keeps up at this rate people are really going to struggle to find new names. Honestly I don't mind if people have same as me, you could try messaging the other Jester see if they mind sharing name. But overall we have no perfect list that encompasses all names to date so knowing what is or is not taken is going to be an issue.
  16. Nah. Most of us if not all of us desire nothing in joining. The only purpose is to help Obsidian not seeking personal gain. The titles thing on here was Obsidians choice and something they did out of kindness of their hearts. Something they never had to do for us to increase our support in the first place.
  17. Alper, for the most part it is just group of fans and pledgers adding to our contributions to help Obsidian. If we are really lucky and our total contribution increase is high enough maybe there will be an adventure company named in game for our Order; but that was never a requirement for doing this. In essense we just want to help Obsidian out of goodness of our hearts to make as much as they can as sign of respect for creating a game that so many of us have craved for so many years yet never been able to get due to publishers business models shying away from this format and style of games. Obsidian responding with allowing custom titles for the forums just shows how amazing they are in regards to supporting us in supporting them.
  18. It certainly seems to be having an effect. I keep refreshing the KS page and quite often so it increase by multiples of eight added onto the total pledged.
  19. Something worth mentioning, remember if changing or updating your kickstarter name to relfect the additional funding for joining the order and becoming a member that Kickstater has a 40 character limit on names. Just something to bare in mind when picking a name if plan to have reflected on the Kickstarter site itself.
